Seal Rescued After Becoming Tangled Near Underwater Rocks

A young seal received a second chance after becoming tangled in fishing line near a rocky underwater area.
The animal was discovered swimming awkwardly close to the rocks. At first, it was difficult to understand why the seal was having trouble moving. But as the camera moved closer, thin fishing material could be seen wrapped around it.
A diver immediately recognized the danger.
Approaching a frightened wild animal underwater is never simple. The rescuer moved slowly, allowing the seal to see him before attempting to help.
Once close enough, the diver carefully supported the animal while checking where the line was caught.
Rather than pulling the fishing line, which could make the situation worse, the rescuer gradually loosened and removed it.
The seal remained nervous throughout the process, but the rescue lasted only a short time.
When the final section of line was removed, the animal immediately moved away from the rocks.
Seconds later, it began swimming upward toward the surface.
Seeing the seal move freely again provided the perfect ending to the rescue.
Fishing lines and other thin plastic materials can be especially dangerous because they are difficult for animals to see underwater. Seals may accidentally encounter them while swimming, hunting or exploring rocky coastal areas.
Once tangled, escaping without assistance can become extremely difficult.
This seal was fortunate that rescuers found it in time.
The video is another reminder that even a small piece of discarded fishing equipment can become a serious obstacle for wildlife.
For the rescuers, the reward came when the seal disappeared safely into the blue water, leaving the dangerous fishing line behind.
