In a dramatic escalation of Operation Epic Fury, President Donald Trump announced that U.S. forces have carried out what he called the “most powerful raid in West Asia,” launching a mᴀssive airstrike on Iran’s strategic Kharg Island — the Islamic Republic’s largest and most critical oil export terminal.
“Kharg Island is no more,” Trump declared in a fiery statement. “We hit it with everything. It was beautiful, perfect, and devastating. Iran’s oil lifeline is finished.”

According to Pentagon sources, waves of B-52 Stratofortress and B-1B Lancer bombers, supported by F-35 stealth fighters, unleashed dozens of precision-guided bunker-busters and cruise missiles on the island’s mᴀssive oil storage facilities, loading terminals, and pumping stations. Thick black smoke and towering flames were visible for miles as huge secondary explosions rocked the facility, severely disrupting Iran’s ability to export crude oil.
The strike marks one of the most significant direct attacks on Iran’s economic heart since the conflict began. Kharg Island handles roughly 90% of Iran’s oil exports, and its destruction could deal a crushing blow to Tehran’s economy.
However, this bold operation comes at enormous cost and risk. The U.S. has already spent over $11 billion in munitions during the first week alone. Both the USS Gerald R. Ford and USS Abraham Lincoln have suffered damage and repeated fires, forcing reduced operations. America’s air refueling fleet has taken heavy losses, including multiple KC-135 tankers, while critical radar systems worth billions have been destroyed across the region.

Despite the spectacular strike on Kharg Island, Iran under Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei continues to hit back hard. Israeli cities remain under sustained missile barrages, the Strait of Hormuz is still a war zone with dozens of tankers trapped or destroyed, and Iranian proxies are expanding attacks across the Gulf.
Trump’s announcement projects strength and victory, but many analysts are asking: Is this decisive blow enough to break Iran’s will, or will it only fuel even fiercer retaliation?
As flames engulf Kharg Island, the world watches to see whether this “most powerful raid” finally tips the scales — or simply adds another dangerous chapter to a conflict that is growing more expensive and unpredictable by the day.
