US-Iran War: Tehran Claims Largest US Radar In Gulf Destroyed.hl

In a major new blow to American air defenses in the Persian Gulf, Tehran has triumphantly claimed the destruction of the largest U.S. radar system in the region — a critical early-warning giant that formed the backbone of Operation Epic Fury’s missile defense network.

IRGC commanders announced that a coordinated salvo of ballistic missiles and suicide drones successfully struck and obliterated the advanced long-range radar facility, believed to be a high-powered AN/TPY-2 or equivalent system stationed at a key Gulf base supporting both U.S. Central Command and Israeli operations. Iranian state media released footage showing mᴀssive secondary explosions and thick smoke rising from the site, declaring it “the most significant radar kill of the war so far.”

This latest success comes on top of the previous destruction of at least 10 other advanced U.S. radar systems across Iraq, Syria, Jordan, and the Gulf. The loss severely degrades America’s ability to detect and intercept incoming Iranian missiles and drones, leaving the already strained USS Gerald R. Ford carrier group and Israeli air defenses even more exposed.

The timing is especially damaging. The Ford continues to suffer recurring fires, with flight operations repeatedly disrupted. A U.S. KC-135 tanker was recently sH๏τ down over Iraq, two major oil tankers were heavily damaged by Iranian boat strikes, and Israeli armor is under constant threat from Mojtaba Khamenei’s ᴅᴇᴀᴅly Almas-3 drone-missiles. Meanwhile, Hezbollah’s hundreds of rockets have kept northern and central Israel under siege for weeks, hammering airbases at Nevatim, Ramat David, Palmachim, and Ovda while striking the Shin Bet headquarters multiple times.

Despite America burning through more than $11 billion in precision munitions during the first six days of Operation Epic Fury — and continuing to expend vast resources on B-52 and B-1B strikes launched from UK bases — Iran under Mojtaba shows no signs of surrender. The IRGC’s ability to adapt and strike high-value targets remains alarmingly effective.

Mojtaba Khamenei’s regime framed the radar destruction as “divine justice for the Martyrs of the Ramadan War,” vowing even stronger retaliation. Russian naval forces continue their provocative drills near the Strait of Hormuz, keeping the threat of a full blockade alive.

With U.S. interceptor stocks critically low and Pacific allies increasingly concerned about America’s stretched arsenal, this latest Iranian claim raises serious doubts about Washington’s strategy. What was supposed to be a swift campaign of total dominance is turning into a costly, exhausting war of attrition where Iran continues to land painful, humiliating blows.

Is Operation Epic Fury collapsing under the weight of its own ambition? As the largest U.S. radar in the Gulf burns, the superpower’s vulnerabilities are on full display for the world to see.
