Urban Warfare Activated!! Pacific Marines Undergo Intense Urban Warfare Training in Okinawa

On March 26, 2026, at Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Pacific Marines of the 4th Marine Division – forward deployed alongside the 3rd Marine Division – conducted a high-intensity, highly realistic urban operations and patrol training exercise.

During the dry fire training, the Marines continuously practiced moving under simulated fire, occupying key positions, coordinating closely in teams, and searching for and destroying targets in a complex urban environment. Although no live ammunition was used, the exercise was conducted under high time pressure, with loud commands and rapid, realistic movements, significantly enhancing combat skills, increasing lethality, and ensuring complete familiarity with all combat procedures in confined, densely populated spaces – where even a small mistake can determine victory or defeat.

Camp Hansen, one of the most important U.S. Marine Corps bases in the Western Pacific, is truly becoming an ideal “laboratory” for the force to hone its modern urban combat capabilities. With its forward deployment in Okinawa – the frontline of the Indo-Pacific region – the Pacific Marines maintain the highest level of combat readiness, ready to transition from training to actual combat in an instant.

This training once again affirms the crucial role of the 4th Marine Division in maintaining deterrence and rapid response capabilities in the Indo-Pacific region. Every cautious movement through the simulated buildings, every precise aiming posture in the urban environment, contributes to making the Marines the most elite, flexible, and formidable force when fighting in cities.

With the spirit of “First to Fight” and “Ready to Fight Tonight,” the Pacific Marines in Okinawa are not just training – they are preparing for every possible scenario in an increasingly complex region. Each training session like today is a solid step in reinforcing the U.S. forces’ position at the forefront, always ready to defend shared interests and security in the broader Indo-Pacific region.
