THEY CALLED GRANDPA’S CAR “AN EMBARRASSMENT”

Grandpa drove an old blue sedan.

His grandson hated it.

At school pickup, he said:

“Can you park farther away next time?”

Grandpa frowned.

“Why?”

“My friends can see the car.”

Grandpa understood.

The next week, he parked two blocks away.

Then one rainy afternoon, the grandson came outside.

Grandpa wasn’t there.

He walked through the rain until he found the old sedan.

Grandpa opened the passenger door.

“Far enough away?”

The boy stopped.

He looked at Grandpa.

Then at his soaked clothes.

“No.”

He climbed inside.

The next morning, Grandpa parked directly in front.

The grandson didn’t hide.

He waved.
