BRIGHT STAR 25 – the largest multinational military exercise in the Middle East and North Africa – has officially begun, affirming the strength of the alliance and the spirit of strategic cooperation between the United States and its allies.

This year, more than a dozen countries are fighting side-by-side: the United States, Egypt, the United Kingdom, Italy, Greece, Cyprus, India, Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, South Africa, and Yemen. More than just a display of firepower, BRIGHT STAR 25 is a vivid testament to the seamless coordination, shared experience, and common goals among forces from multiple continents.

From 1980 to the present: A journey of continuous growth
Initiated in 1980 to strengthen US-Egypt military relations, BRIGHT STAR has grown stronger over the years, becoming the region’s largest “test.” Each exercise draws on lessons learned from previous ones, updates technology, and realistically simulates modern battlefield situations.

This year’s exercise was comprehensive: from air and ground combat to coordinated command. A special highlight was the freefall parachute jumps from C-130J transport aircraft directly above the Pyramids – an image both majestic and deeply symbolic, connecting a glorious past with contemporary military power.
