‘Serve me or get ready to die about some chicken’: Suspect accused of walking up to Atlanta Chick-fil-A drive-thru, demanding service

The suspect took more than $200 after approaching the drive-thru window and allegedly threatening to kill the employees.

Police are searching for a suspect accused of threatening to kill employees and stealing cash from an Atlanta Chick-fil-A restaurant.

The incident happened Tuesday night at the Chick-fil-A at 875 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, police said.

Investigators said the suspect took more than $200 after approaching the drive-thru window and threatening employees, telling them, “You are going to serve me or get ready to die about some chicken.”

The threat prompted some workers to flee the restaurant through the drive-thru window.

APD said the suspect then left the scene in a silver SUV.

Police are asking anyone with information about the suspect or the vehicle to contact Crime Stoppers Atlanta. Tips can be submitted anonymously, and a reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest.

The incident occurred on Tuesday evening, March 18, 2026 (approximately 9:40 PM), at the Chick-fil-A restaurant located at 875 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive (Vine City, Atlanta, Georgia – within the 800 block, east of the intersection with Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard).

Details of the incident (according to the Atlanta Police Department – ​​APD):

The suspect is a male (idenтιтy not yet released, wearing a dark hoodie).

He walked (not drove) directly to the drive-thru window.

The suspect threatened the employee with the exact words:

“You are going to serve me or get ready to die about some chicken.”

The employee panicked and fled from the window.

The suspect reached through the window, rummaged through the cash register, and took over $200 in cash.

He then fled in a silver or light-colored SUV.

The entire incident was clearly captured by the restaurant’s security cameras (surveillance footage) and has been released by the APD to aid in the search for the suspect.

Investigation Status (updated March 20, 2026)

The suspect has not been apprehended. The APD is actively investigating through its Larceny Unit.

There were no casualties, but the incident caused significant alarm due to its direct threat and public nature.

A reward of up to $5,000 will be given for information leading to the arrest.

The owner of Chick-fil-A Vine City (Quincy Springs IV) has confirmed that they are fully cooperating with the police.

The incident was described as “bizarre” and quickly went viral due to the humorous yet extremely dangerous threat.
Security camera video (surveillance video) was broadcast publicly by many stations, showing the suspect standing at the drive-thru window and taking the money.
