In a clear sign that Israel is under severe pressure, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have issued an emergency call-up of thousands of reservist soldiers as Hezbollah intensifies its ᴅᴇᴀᴅliest attacks since the start of Operation Epic Fury.
The IDF announced the mobilization late Thursday, citing “escalating threats on the northern front” and the need to reinforce ground units facing sustained ᴀssaults from Iran’s most powerful proxy. Hezbollah has launched over 400 rockets and dozens of explosive drones in the past 24 hours alone, targeting IDF positions along the Lebanon border and deeper inside Israeli territory. Several military outposts and artillery positions have been directly hit, with reports of casualties and significant damage to equipment.

This marks the largest single-day Hezbollah barrage in weeks. Videos circulating online show waves of rockets lighting up the sky over northern Israel, while Israeli Iron Dome batteries struggle to intercept the sheer volume of incoming fire. Analysts say Hezbollah is deliberately coordinating with Iran’s own missile campaign to stretch Israeli defenses to the breaking point.
The reservist call-up reveals the heavy toll of fighting a two-front war. Israel’s regular forces are already exhausted from weeks of defending against Iranian ballistic missiles, Almas-3 drone strikes on armor, and repeated attacks on major airbases including Nevatim, Ramat David, and Palmachim. The Shin Bet headquarters has also been struck multiple times.
Meanwhile, America’s support is showing dangerous limits. The USS Gerald R. Ford and USS Abraham Lincoln have both suffered serious damage and reduced operations in the Arabian Sea. The U.S. has burned through more than $11 billion in munitions in the first week of Operation Epic Fury, with critical interceptor stocks running low and multiple aircraft lost.

By forcing Israel to call up reservists while continuing its own missile barrages, Iran and Hezbollah are successfully turning this into a war of endurance — one that increasingly favors the side willing to absorb and inflict pain longer.
Is Israel being slowly bled dry on multiple fronts? As reservists leave their homes and jobs to head to the battlefield, many Israelis are quietly asking whether Operation Epic Fury has created a strategic nightmare rather than delivering the promised decisive victory.
The northern border is heating up dangerously. And the war shows no signs of slowing down.
