Dubai / Doha / Riyadh – Iran has dramatically escalated the conflict, launching a sweeping revenge campaign against U.S.-aligned Gulf states following the devastating strike on its critical Kharg Island oil terminal.
In the early hours of March 15, 2026, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) fired dozens of ballistic missiles and explosive drones targeting military and energy infrastructure across the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia. Multiple explosions rocked key sites near Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Doha, and Riyadh, with thick columns of smoke rising over several locations.
Iranian state media claimed the attacks were a direct response to the recent U.S.-Israeli strike that heavily damaged Kharg Island — Iran’s largest oil export hub. IRGC commanders vowed that “every drop of oil spilled on Kharg will be answered with fire across the Gulf.”

According to regional sources, several missiles struck near Al Dhafra Air Base in the UAE and caused damage at industrial facilities in Saudi Arabia. Qatar also reported intercepting multiple threats near key energy installations. While Gulf air defenses, supported by U.S. systems, intercepted many incoming projectiles, several got through, causing confirmed damage and raising fears of a wider regional war.
This coordinated barrage marks a dangerous new phase. By directly attacking sovereign Gulf nations, Iran is attempting to internationalize the conflict and punish countries hosting U.S. forces. The strikes threaten global energy markets, as any sustained disruption in the Gulf could send oil prices soaring well beyond $150 per barrel.

U.S. Central Command condemned the attacks as “reckless aggression” and confirmed that American forces ᴀssisted in the defense of Gulf partners. Additional fighter squadrons and air defense ᴀssets are being rapidly deployed to the region.
The Iranian regime’s strategy is clear: unable to win a direct war against superior U.S. and Israeli forces, it is now lashing out at America’s wealthy Arab allies in a bid to fracture the coalition and create economic chaos.
However, this desperate escalation is likely to backfire. The Gulf states have vowed a strong unified response, and the United States has repeatedly warned that attacks on its partners will be met with overwhelming force.
The fires burning across the Gulf tonight may soon be matched by even greater flames inside Iran. The regime that chose revenge may soon face its final reckoning.
