Iran’s ᴅᴇᴀᴅLY Strike on Prince Sultan US Air Base – 5 U.S. Flying Tankers Destroyed in Bold ᴀssault.lh

In a devastating blow delivered just hours ago on day 22 of the 2026 US-Iran war, Iranian forces launched a precision missile and drone strike on Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, destroying five U.S. KC-135 Stratotanker aircraft on the ground and heavily damaging the critical forward operating hub.

Prince Sultan Air Base, one of America’s most important strategic airfields in the region, came under heavy attack as Iranian ballistic missiles and suicide drones breached Saudi and American air defenses. Mᴀssive explosions ripped through the flight line, turning five mᴀssive aerial refueling tankers — essential for sustaining long-range U.S. bombing missions — into blazing wreckage. Thick columns of black smoke rose over the desert base as firefighters battled intense flames amid secondary explosions from fuel depots.

Saudi air defenses intercepted several incoming threats, but multiple warheads got through, marking one of the most successful Iranian strikes against a major U.S. installation to date. The loss of these “flying tankers” severely impacts America’s ability to maintain air operations over the Gulf and deep into Iranian territory.

This latest ᴀssault adds to Iran’s growing list of battlefield achievements: fiery attacks that sank Western tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, the near-total destruction of the joint U.S.-Israeli naval superbase in Bahrain, repeated hammer blows on Al Udeid in Qatar and Al Dhafra in the UAE, ᴅᴇᴀᴅly missile strikes on Tel Aviv and Beersheba, and the shocking downing of a U.S. aircraft carrier by a Russian Su-35.

U.S. Central Command confirms nearly 200 American troops injured across the theater with 13 deaths so far. President Donald Trump has repeatedly admitted the U.S. was caught off guard by the scale of Iran’s retaliation. While B-2 Spirit stealth bombers have hit Iranian missile sites and the USS Tripoli now sits off Iran’s coast to help reopen the Strait of Hormuz, Tehran continues to demonstrate remarkable reach and determination.

Brent crude remains locked above $110 per barrel as global markets reel from the chaos in the world’s most critical energy corridor.

With Prince Sultan Air Base now burning and America’s refueling capability dealt a serious setback, the war has entered an even more dangerous phase. Iran is proving it can strike hard at the heart of U.S. power projection in the region.

The situation is extremely fluid and highly volatile.
