Washington / Persian Gulf – The United States is dramatically escalating its military footprint in the Middle East, ordering approximately 2,500 battle-hardened Marines and the powerful amphibious ᴀssault ship USS Tripoli to rush toward the Iran war zone.
According to senior U.S. officials, the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) and the Japan-based USS Tripoli have been redirected from the Indo-Pacific to the Persian Gulf region.
