Tel Aviv, Israel – Iran has dramatically escalated the conflict, launching a large-scale missile barrage at Israel, claiming it as direct retaliation for what it calls a “nuclear attack” on Iranian territory.
On March 21, 2026, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps fired dozens of ballistic missiles, including advanced Sejjil and Khorramshahr variants, toward central and northern Israel. Air raid sirens blared across Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Haifa as explosions rocked multiple locations. Several missiles penetrated Israeli defenses, causing significant damage, fires, and casualties in residential and strategic areas.

Iranian state media immediately claimed the strikes were a “just response” to an alleged Israeli or U.S. nuclear strike on Iranian soil. IRGC commanders declared: “The Zionist regime crossed the final red line. Our missiles are the answer.”
While Israel’s Iron Dome, David’s Sling, and Arrow systems intercepted many incoming threats, the sheer volume of the barrage allowed several warheads to reach their targets. Emergency services are responding to multiple blast sites as hospitals treat victims of shrapnel and blast injuries.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the nation from a secure location, calling the attack “an act of madness” and promising that Israel’s retaliation would be “swift, powerful, and decisive.” The Israeli Air Force has already launched major counterstrikes deep inside Iran.

This latest escalation raises the terrifying possibility that the conflict is moving toward an even more dangerous phase. If Iran truly believes it was subjected to a nuclear strike, the cycle of retaliation could spiral rapidly out of control.
As fires continue to burn across Israel and the region braces for further attacks, the world stands on edge. The war that began with conventional weapons now carries the shadow of nuclear rhetoric — a development that could reshape the entire Middle East.
