CQB Hell in Cyprus: Fasteur Marines Undergo Intense Close-Quarter Combat Training
On March 25, 2026, in Larnaca, Cyprus, soldiers of Fleet Anтιтerrorism Security Team Europe (FASTEUR) – also known as Task Group 68.7 – conducted an extremely intense and realistic live sim close-quarter battle (CQB) training session.
This is an advanced close-quarter combat simulation exercise where Marines must rush into confined spaces, quickly neutralize targets, and coordinate as a team under simulated fire and extreme time pressure. Every action, from infiltration and containment to target elimination and first aid for comrades, is executed with maximum precision and speed, significantly enhancing the ability to respond immediately in terrorist and special security situations.
FASTEUR is the U.S. Navy’s rapid response force specializing in counterterrorism and security protection in Europe and Africa. The unit is currently permanently deployed (forward-deployed) at Naval Station Rota, Spain, under Navy Expeditionary Combat Force Europe-Africa / Task Force 68. This strategic location allows FASTEUR to quickly deploy to any H๏τspot within the areas of responsibility of the U.S. European Command (EUCOM) and U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) within hours.
