A jury found a Canton man guilty on 10 charges of Sєx crimes against teenage girls, including four counts of rape, according to Cherokee County District Attorney Susan K. Treadway.
Canton Police began investigating in April 2021 after a 14-year-old girl revealed that 33-year-old Canton resident Monquezias Deshad Watts had Sєxually ᴀssaulted her.

As detectives further investigated the claim, additional victims—ranging in ages under 16, including a 13-year-old—were identified. They say Watts knew the victims.
During the eight-hour trial, prosecutors presented evidence that Watts gave the teenage girls drugs and alcohol and then ᴀssaulted them while they were impaired or asleep. Jurors also heard testimony from 28 witnesses, including the victims.
The district attorney’s office says it introduced over 100 pieces of evidence, which included a recorded forensic interview of one of the victims.
The jury deliberated for seven hours before returning a verdict, finding Watts guilty on 10 felony charges, including four counts of rape, five counts of child molestation, and one count of aggravated Sєxual battery.

He was acquitted of three additional counts.
A superior court judge set Watts’ sentencing date to Mar. 26.
