Savannah Guthrie has announced she and her family are offering up to $1 million for the return of their missing mother, Nancy Guthrie, whom authorities believe was taken from her home in the middle of the night over three weeks ago.

The TODAY co-anchor posted a video on Instagram Feb. 24 announcing the reward. She is seen wearing yellow sweater — a color that has become a symbol of hope for Nancy Guthrie’s return and support for the family.

“So many people have been praying of every faith and no faith at all, praying for her return, and we feel those prayers,” she said. “Please keep praying without ceasing. We still believe. We still believe in a miracle. We still believe that she can come home, hope against hope. As my sister says, we are blowing on the embers of hope.”

Savannah then breached the possibility that their 84-year-old mother may not be alive.

“We also know that she may be lost,” she said. “She may already be gone. She may have already gone home to the Lord that she loves and is dancing in heaven with her mom and her dad and with her beloved brother, Pierce, and with our daddy.”

“If this is what is to be, then we will accept it,” she continued. “But we need to know where she is. We need her to come home. For that reason, we are offering a family reward of up to $1 million for any information that leads us to her recovery.”

The FBI’s Phoenix bureau also announced the $1 million reward from the family in a post on X on Feb. 24.

“If you have firsthand knowledge of Nancy’s whereabouts or any information about where she may be located, please contact the FBI tip line at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324),” the agency wrote.

“You can call the 1-800 tip line,” Savannah said in her video. “You can be anonymous if you want. Someone out there knows something that can bring her home. Somebody knows, we are begging you to please come forward now.”

By late Tuesday, a senior law enforcement official told NBC News that Savannah Guthrie’s Instagram post generated more than 750 calls to the FBI’s tip line in the first 12 hours after it was posted. The official did not characterize the nature of the calls but said the influx of information was notable and appreciated.

The FBI previously announced it is offering a $100,000 reward for any tips that lead to the return of Nancy Guthrie.
