In a surgical night raid that has decimated Iran’s maritime drone capabilities, a U.S. B-2 Spirit stealth bomber successfully targeted and crippled the Shahid Bagheri, the Islamic Republic’s flagship drone carrier. As part of the ongoing Operation Epic Fury, the Pentagon confirmed the use of heavy 2,000-pound precision-guided munitions to neutralize the converted container ship deep within the Persian Gulf.

The Strike: Taking advantage of its radar-evading profile, the B-2 reportedly released a string of 2,000-pound GBU-31 JDAMs from high alтιтude. Infrared footage released by CENTCOM shows three direct hits tearing through the vessel’s expansive flight deck.

Secondary Carnage: The initial blasts triggered a mᴀssive chain reaction as stored aviation fuel and hundreds of Shahed-class “kamikaze” drones detonated in rapid succession. The Shahid Bagheri is currently reported to be ᴅᴇᴀᴅ in the water, engulfed in a mᴀssive inferno with its specialized 170-meter runway completely warped.
Strategic Blow: The loss of the Shahid Bagheri effectively severs Iran’s ability to launch long-range drone swarms from international waters,
a capability Tehran had only recently unveiled to project power beyond its coastal batteries.
