Authorities in Enterprise, Alabama, intensified their search Wednesday for missing toddler Genesis Nova Reid, deploying a cadaver dog around the Meadowbrook apartment complex on Apache Drive and in nearby wooded areas as concerns grow about the child’s fate.

Police confirmed that officers responded in the early morning hours of February 16 after Adrienne Reid, 33, called authorities shortly after 3 a.m. reporting that her daughter, Genesis Nova Reid, was missing from their home.

According to the initial report, Adrienne Reid told investigators that the front door of the apartment was open and that Genesis had been taken from her bed.

However, as detectives canvᴀssed the area and interviewed neighbors and relatives, investigators determined that Genesis had not been seen in several weeks.

Residents and individuals connected to the apartment complex told police that the last confirmed sighting of the toddler may have been in early January.

The rental office at Meadowbrook Apartments reported seeing Genesis with Adrienne Reid around January 8.

Following inconsistencies in the mother’s account, police charged Adrienne Reid with false reporting to law enforcement authorities.

Investigators stated that evidence contradicted her claim that Genesis was abducted from her bed on February 16. She is currently being held without bond.

Authorities have not publicly disclosed additional charges as of February 18, and they have not confirmed Genesis’ whereabouts.

During questioning, Adrienne Reid allegedly told police that a family friend identified only as “Moriah” had information about where Genesis might be.

Law enforcement asked the public for help identifying or locating anyone by that name connected to the case, but no confirmed individual has come forward.

Genesis’ father and other family members traveled from Florida to Enterprise to ᴀssist in the search and cooperate with investigators. Community members have also gathered around the apartment complex to help look for signs of the missing toddler.

Police have removed items described as “of interest” from the apartment as part of the ongoing investigation.

Authorities have not specified what those items are, citing the active nature of the case.

The use of a cadaver dog marks a significant development in the investigation.

While officials have not declared Genesis deceased, the deployment of specialized search dogs trained to detect human remains suggests investigators are exploring all possibilities.

At the same time, officers have emphasized that they continue to hope for a positive outcome.

As of February 18, Genesis Nova Reid remains missing. Law enforcement officials say the investigation is ongoing and that additional updates will be provided as new verified information becomes available.
