The incident occurred at Forest Park Middle School in Clayton County, Georgia (USA) – within the Atlanta metro area.

Details of the incident:

Victim: Isias Rodriguez Gallaga, 15, a 9th-grade student with autism and epilepsy. His family describes him as a gentle, intelligent, and vulnerable child.

Time: January 2026 (specific date not yet publicly released).

Events: Isias had been repeatedly bullied beforehand. During school, he was attacked by another teenager (whose idenтιтy has not been released as they are minors) in the school hallway. The victim was stabbed twice:

The first stab was to the shoulder in the hallway.

The second stab was to the cheek when the incident escalated outside.

The boy was injured but is now out of danger. There is no information about the suspect being arrested or publicly prosecuted (investigation is ongoing).

Isias’s mother’s statement on the incident and the investigation (spoken at the school board meeting)
Isias’s mother – Andriana Gallaga (also identified as Adriana Gallaga Reyna or Andreana Galaga) – spoke directly at the Clayton County School Board meeting on Monday evening (March 2, 2026) in a public statement.

Exact quotes from her mother (according to FOX 5 Atlanta):

“It is truly sad I have to go through this. It had to be me to ask for a meeting, and the situation we are going through.”

(It is truly sad that I have to go through this. It had to be me to ask for a meeting, and the situation we are facing.)

“My son is autistic, and he suffers from epilepsy.”

(My son has autism and epilepsy.)
Regarding the school’s lack of notification: She stated that she did not receive any calls from the school administration or the district education office. She only learned about the incident through her youngest son, who witnessed the stabbing and suffered severe psychological trauma.

Regarding family consequences: “Now I have a son who has witnessed this and is traumatized, and also a son who was stabbed.”

(Now I have a son who witnessed the incident and is traumatized, and another who was stabbed.)

She questioned the board: “What support do you give families, what support do you give students who were attacked or students who witnessed the attack?”

(What support do you provide to families, students who were attacked, or students who witnessed the incident?)

Following the incident, she withdrew both of her sons from traditional school. Both are now studying online at home (virtual learning).

School Response & Investigation Status

Clayton County School District confirmed: The incident remains under active investigation. The suspect’s idenтιтy and specific charges have not yet been released.

Interim Superintendent Dr. Douglas Hendrix Sr. responded directly to Isias’s mother: “We will continue to look into this matter. I will look into this matter to make sure it is handled sufficiently, and I want you to know that not only your child but your family matters.”

(We will continue to review the incident. I will ensure it is handled appropriately, and I want you to know that not only your son but your entire family matters.)
The school board chair requested that all board members review the safety policy immediately: “It is our job to review policy, and I’m requesting that all board members please pull up that policy. Let’s discuss the policy.”

(It is our responsibility to review the policy; I request that all council members open the policy and we discuss it.)

As of March 20, 2026, there has been no update on the investigation’s outcome (no public criminal charges have been filed against the suspect). The family continues to demand transparency and better support for students with disabilities.
Community Reactions
The incident has caused widespread outrage in Clayton County due to its involvement of students with disabilities being bullied and subjected to violence in school. Many parents and disability advocacy organizations are calling for increased protection and stricter anti-bullying policies.
