Mom arrested: School bus fight caught on camera

The incident occurred on February 24, 2026, on a Marietta City Schools bus in Marietta, Cobb County, Georgia (atlanta metro area).
Key details:
Victim/Mother arrested: Zaria Stovall (sometimes spelled Zarya Stovall).
She missed her bus stop by just seconds, so the driver caught up and tried to board to pick up her two young children.
The bus driver refused to let her board, in accordance with county regulations (protocol: parents are not allowed on buses dropping off students).
Stovall still boarded the bus, leading to a physical altercation on the bus (students were seated, including her daughter, who was crying and panicking).
According to surveillance camera footage on the bus and video from her personal phone (released by FOX 5 Atlanta):

The driver asked her to get off the bus.
She admitted to throwing a plastic spray bottle at the driver and saying, “I’m about to punch you.”
According to the arrest warrant, she punched the driver in the face.
She recounted: “He pushed me out of the car, I got back in, he pushed again… the third time I fell on the second step. I saw the bottle and threw it at him.”
Her young daughter cried and even swung her schoolbag at the driver in a panic.
Charges (5 counts – arrested and taken to Cobb County Jail):

Disruption of public schools.
Simple ᴀssault against a public school employee.
Upbraiding, insulting, or abusing a school bus driver.
Criminal trespᴀss.
Mother’s reaction and status:
Stovall has been released and stated she will fight all charges, claiming the police report was false, that the driver initiated the pushing, and that she was only acting in self-defense. She said, “I don’t remember punching him in the face. I only remember being pushed down again every time I tried to get up.”
Following the incident, Marietta City Schools replaced the driver for her child’s bus route.
Community reaction:

Bus camera footage and phone clips went viral, sparking a major debate about school bus safety regulations vs. parental rights.
Many supported her, saying she “just wanted to pick up her child,” but others criticized her for boarding the bus illegally, leading to chaos.
Latest update (as of March 20, 2026):
The case is still in the legal proceedings. Stovall has not yet appeared in court but affirms she will fight to the end.
