India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued an urgent safety advisory to all Indian airlines operating in the Middle East and Gulf region, citing extreme risks to civil aviation amid the escalating 2026 US-Israel-Iran war. The notice effectively urges carriers to avoid or reroute flights through multiple high-risk airspaces, including those over Iran, Israel, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, and others, due to the threat of ballistic missiles, drone swarms, and potential misidentification of civilian aircraft.

The advisory comes after a wave of Iranian retaliation that has turned the skies dangerous. Iranian missiles have repeatedly struck Dubai, damaged Ben Gurion Airport, triggered shrapnel showers over Tel Aviv, and hit critical energy infrastructure such as Qatar’s Ras Laffan LNG facility and Saudi oil sites near Riyadh. The risk of stray munitions, electronic warfare interference, and spillover from active combat zones has forced global airlines to reᴀssess routes, causing widespread flight cancellations and disruptions.
This development highlights the far-reaching consequences of Iran’s reckless aggression. While the regime fires indiscriminately at civilian targets and global energy hubs, the US-led coalition responds with precision. Despite the USS Gerald R. Ford still undergoing repairs after Iranian attacks, multiple American carrier strike groups, supported by the USS Wasp and thousands of Marines, maintain strong control over the Strait of Hormuz — protecting one-fifth of the world’s daily oil supply. Relentless 5,000-pound bunker-buster strikes continue degrading Iran’s underground missile capabilities, while Israel’s targeted operations have left South Pars, the world’s largest gas field, still burning.

The DGCA notice serves as a sobering reminder: Iran’s strategy of dragging the entire region into chaos is creating real global costs. Every missile launched at peaceful cities and international aviation only isolates Tehran further and justifies stronger defensive measures.
The free world cannot allow a rogue regime to endanger innocent travelers and hold global commerce hostage. America’s overwhelming military presence, combined with the resolve of its allies, remains the best guarantee of eventual stability. Strength, not appeasement, will end this threat and restore safe skies.
