Daniel Craig’s $1.1B James Bond Movie Becomes Streaming Hit 13 Years Later

Skyfall, the highest grossing James Bond movie ever, is now excelling with viewers on streaming 13 years after it first hit theaters. Directed by Sam Mendes, Craig’s third outing as 007 remains one of his most acclaimed, with a story that follows the iconic British spy as he faces off against Raul Silva (Javier Bardem), a former MI6 agent.

After grossing a staggering $1.1 billion worldwide in 2012, Skyfall is now climbing the streaming charts on Prime Video. As of writing, the Bond film ranks as the eighth most popular film on the streamer in the U.S., coming ahead of тιтles like Culpa tuya (2024) and Saquon (2025).

Skyfall falls behind some other big тιтles, though, including Knight and Day (2010), A Working Man (2025), Craig’s own No Time To Die (2021), Maintenance Required (2025), John Candy: I Like Me (2025), and Play Dirty (2025). Our Fault (2025) currently occupies the number one spot.

Craig’s debut as 007 with Casino Royale (2006) served as a breath of fresh air for the Bond franchise, ushering in a new grounded and gritty take on the character. The film’s success wasn’t repeated with Quantum of Solace (2008), which, despite achieving profitability at the box office, suffered due to the writers’ strike and earned mixed reviews.

After this misstep, Skyfall marked Craig’s triumphant return to the world of Bond, with Mendes joining the franchise after movies like Jarhead (2005) and Revolutionary Road (2008). On Rotten Tomatoes, the 007 movie enjoys a 92% critics’ score, marking the second highest of Craig’s Bond tenure after Casino Royale‘s 94%. Skyfall‘s Popcornmeter is also high at 86%.

When talking about Craig’s time as Bond, Casino Royale and Skyfall are most often cited as audience favorites. Skyfall‘s villain is a frequent highlight in the film’s reviews, with Judi Dench, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, and Ralph Fiennes rounding out the rest of the cast.

Craig ultimately bid farewell to the franchise in 2021, with the No Time To Die ending sending his iteration of the character off with a definitive bang. The decision to kill Bond in that movie continues to a be a divisive one, though, and it marks a first in the franchise’s 63-year history.

Interest has now turned to the confirmed Bond 26 and who will replace Craig. After Amazon took over creative control of the franchise earlier this year, it was subsequently announced that Denis Villeneuve will direct the movie. No official news has emerged, however, regarding casting.

While many questions remain about the future of Bond under Amazon, Skyfall evidently sets a very high bar commercially and in terms of quality. With movement on the next film not set to truly happen until next year, audiences are evidently enjoying revisiting a highlight of Craig’s 007 tenure.
