A new Avengers: Doomsday theory explores one of the movie’s recent teases, showing how Galactus could return in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie and tie into Doctor Doom’s goal. Robert Downey Jr.’s Victor von Doom is confirmed to be the main threat in the MCU’s next Avengers movie. However, little else has been revealed about the film at this point.
Avengers: Doomsday‘s story is still largely a mystery. However, more villains should be involved in the film, just like the Black Order and others were part of the MCU’s last Avengers movies. Doctor Doom will have to go up against many powerful members of the Avengers movie cast next year, and one antagonist could help him with that, though there would be a twist.
The Russo Brothers Have Shared A Couple Of Avengers: Doomsday Teases
Avengers: Doomsday has finished filming. Despite that update, there are still no trailers, images, or even concrete details about the MCU movie’s story out there. Marvel Studios is keeping that information close to the vest, only allowing a couple of cryptic teases to slide through the cracks. Those Avengers: Doomsday teases came from none other than the movie’s directors.
On Instagram, the Russo Brothers shared on their official account two teases for the MCU’s next Avengers movie. The first image seemed to show a zoomed-in look at text on what appears to be a chalkboard. Fans have since drawn a connection to Reed Richards’ chalkboard from The Fantastic Four: First Steps. The movie is confirmed to have scenes at the Baxter Building.
After that tease sent the internet into a frenzy, a new Avengers: Doomsday set pH๏τo was shared by the Russo Brothers, once again containing a cryptic tease for the anticipated MCU movie. Someone can be seen sitting in a chair in the shadows of a set from the Avengers film. The caption says, “Look hard…” After doing that, a new MCU theory has emerged.
Avengers: Doomsday Theory – The MCU Movie’s New Tease Leads To Galactus
Fans have taken to social media to suggest what could be the meaning behind the new Avengers: Doomsday tease, with many believing it could be connected to Galactus. Fans like Reddit user Few_Mixture_8412 have shared what could be seen as the outline of Galactus’ helmet at the corner of the set pH๏τo, and this has spawned a theory connecting Galactus and Doctor Doom.
In Marvel Comics’ first Secret Wars event, Doctor Doom stole Galactus’ Power Cosmic so that he could become powerful enough to take on the Beyonder. While the latter should not be part of Avengers: Doomsday, I believe a version of that story could happen, but with Tom Hiddleston’s Loki taking the Beyonder’s place. As it stands, Loki is in Doom’s way.
While we don’t know what Robert Downey Jr.’s MCU character wants, Loki is now the protector of the multiverse. As such, anyone wanting to mess with it will have to go through him, and his new position elevates Loki’s power immensely. If Galactus is truly behind the recent Avengers: Doomsday tease, I believe Doctor Doom stealing his powers would make the most sense.
The MCU Left The Door Open For Galactus To Return
Galactus could very much appear in Avengers: Doomsday, as his story is far from finished in the MCU. In The Fantastic Four: First Steps‘ ending, the team managed to send him through a portal to the other side of the universe with the help of Julia Garner’s Silver Surfer. While Galactus was defeated, he is not ᴅᴇᴀᴅ, and revenge might be in order.
Given that the Fantastic Four are said to be key to Avengers: Doomsday, Galactus could make his way back to confront the team. Additionally, Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom made his MCU debut in The Fantastic Four: First Steps‘ post-credits scene, where it was heavily implied that he comes from the team’s Earth, given his Baxter Building presence and the movie’s earlier Latveria tease.
If Doctor Doom comes from the Fantastic Four’s universe, then he would know very well just how powerful Galactus is. As such, if he were to go up against Loki, Doom would know that Galactus’ Power Cosmic would be a great boost. After all, he did show interest in Franklin Richards, so the theory is looking interesting for Avengers: Doomsday.
