Spider-Man: Brand New Dat Set PH๏τos Show Return Of Long-Awaited Villain

Scorpion is finally ready to strike, as new set pH๏τos from Spider-Man: Brand New Day reveal actor Michael Mando returning to the villain role that was first teased eight years ago in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

A quartet of set pH๏τos shared by @MyTimeToShineHello on X featured a couple of pictures of Tom Holland, back on set following his injury, while two more featured Mando as Mac Gargan, aka Scorpion. The pH๏τos see Mando dressed in what looks like a white prison jumpsuit and then inside a helicopter on what we’re guessing is a roof. The pictures featuring Holland see the actor not in his Spider-Man costume, but striking some Spidey poses.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the fourth MCU Spider-Man movie. Following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, with everyone’s memories of Peter Parker as Spider-Man having been wiped, Peter continues his fight against crime, but now on his own. Among those he’ll be taking on is Mando’s Scorpion, who looks like he’ll finally get his sH๏τ at Spider-Man.

Mando first appears as Mac Gargan in Spider-Man: Homecoming, getting arrested after an encounter with Spider-Man. In a post-credit scene, we saw Gargan run into Michael Keaton’s Adrian Tooms in jail, where Gargan clearly had a vendetta against Spider-Man. Eight years and two movies later, Gargan looks like he is getting out of jail and will have his sH๏τ at Spider-Man, presumably as his villain alter ego.

Scorpion isn’t the only villain that Holland’s Spider-Man is set to go up against in the latest movie. Marvin Jones is set to reprise the role of Tombstone, portraying the character in live action for the first time after voicing him in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Jon Bernthal’s Punisher will also appear, and could be another antagonist for the web-crawler in this movie.

Other members of the Spider-Man: Brand New Day cast include Zendaya and Jacob Batalon reprising their roles as MJ and Ned, Mark Ruffalo coming back to play Bruce Banner/The Hulk, as well as new additions in Sadie Sink, Tramell Tillman, and Liza Colón-Zayas. Destin Daniel Cretton, who previously directed the MCU movie Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, is in the director’s chair for Brand New Day.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day releases in movie theaters on July 31, 2026. It is one of two Marvel movies set to be released in 2026, with the other being the next Avengers movie, Avengers: Doomsday, debuting on December 18, 2026.
