DC’s New Batman Movie Confirms A Major Villain Knows His Secret Idenтιтy

Batman‘s secret idenтιтy is out in his newest movie, with a DC villain doing just what a previous film had teased. When it comes to superhero movies, secret idenтιтies have not often been treated like they are in the comics, with far too many films having the heroes’ idenтιтies known to the mᴀsses. Batman’s live-action movies are not part of that trend.

Batman’s secret idenтιтy is an important part of the character, which is why the many live-action Bruce Wayne versions have fought hard to keep it that way. When it comes to animation, that also mostly rings true. Recently, Batman almost got his idenтιтy revealed in a movie, which is now fulfilled by a 2025 release, but Bruce Wayne is not behind the cowl.

Two-Face Learns Batman’s Secret Idenтιтy In New DC Movie

DC’s new 2025 Batman movie is an Elseworlds adventure, which means it exists separately from James Gunn’s DC Universe, taking place in its own universe. To that end, Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires makes major changes to the hero, including a switch from Bruce Wayne to Yohualli Coatl for Batman, and his rogues’ gallery. This R-rated story feels fresh.

Two-Face, who is Hernán Cortés, the leader of the conquistadors in the film, ends up learning Batman’s secret idenтιтy. Early in the animated movie, before he had his face slashed by Catwoman and became Two-Face, Cortés slaughtered Yohualli’s father and everyone else in his village after they decided not to cooperate. While short-lived in the film, Yohualli’s father left an impression.

Later in the film, when Batman goes up against Two-Face, he uses the same words that his father had said previously to the villain. After hearing Yohualli’s father’s words come out of Batman’s mouth, Cortés connects the two, becoming even more keen to take out the Dark Knight. This cements that Batman’s biggest villain in this universe knows his secret.

Aztec Batman: Clash Of Empires Does What The Batman Only Teased

Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires follows through on what the Dark Knight’s latest live-action movie, The Batman, teased but never actually let happen. In the movie directed by Matt Reeves, Robert Pattinson’s Batman is sure that Paul Dano’s Riddler figured out his secret idenтιтy when he starts chanting “Bruce Wayne” repeatedly. Batman’s eyes show how sad he is by the ordeal.

However, The Batman‘s secret idenтιтy moment was a fakeout. In reality, the Riddler figured out that the hero was motivated by childhood trauma, but never linked that to Bruce Wayne. As such, the moment served to build up tension for Batman and the audience. DC’s new Batman movie actually has his secret idenтιтy revealed, but, nevertheless, he succeeds and defeats Two-Face.
