Eager movie fans can see Wicked: For Good ahead of its November 21 release date, but there’s a catch. The sequel to 2024’s smash hit Wicked continues the story of Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) and Glinda (Ariana Grande), as they take on their diverging roles as the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch.
Based on the Broadway musical and Gregory Magurie novel of the same name, Wicked became an absolute phenomenon last year, as the movie made $757 million worldwide, had an 88% “Certified Fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and was nominated for 10 Oscars, including Best Picture, winning two. Fans are now eager to see how this Oz-set story concludes.
If you’re a Prime member, you’ll get the chance to do so before anyone else. Thanks to a partnership with Universal Pictures, Prime members will be able to buy tickets to see Wicked: For Good on November 17, four days ahead of the US release date for the movie. The special screenings will take place in select movie theaters across the US.

What This Means For Wicked: For Good Fans
Wicked: For Good is one of the most anticipated movies remaining on the 2025 release calendar, and Universal Pictures is clearly making a major push for the movie to be as big as the previous entry.
Still two months away, this Wicked: For Good news raises the level of excitement for fans, as you can be sure these advance screening tickets will go fast once they’re available. If you miss out, or you’re not a Prime member, there’s no reason to panic. Advanced tickets for regular screenings are sure to be available ahead of time as well.
Our Take On Wicked: For Good’s Early Release Date
While there are many who have either read the book and/or seen the Broadway musical of Wicked, I and many others’ first experience with Wicked was last year’s movie. For us, Wicked: For Good will provide the conclusion to this reframed look at these iconic The Wizard of Oz characters for the first time.
For those that are familiar with either source material, this adaptation has the opportunity to tweak Glinda and Elphaba’s storylines a bit so that even they are a little surprised by what happens. Of course, there’s also excitement to hear the latest batch of anticipated songs from the musical. Maybe we’ll even get a sing-a-long version earlier this time.
Whatever the case, it’s impossible to deny the anticipation over Wicked: For Good that so many have, which makes this opportunity to see the movie early so exciting.
