Alexandra Daddario Suits Up As Wonder Woman In Epic Costume After New DCU Update In DC Art

Alexandra Daddario dons unique Wonder Woman armor to become the Diana Prince of the new DC Universe in stunning art. Daddario has been fancast as several superheroes over the years. The actress also reportedly came close to joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as she was one of the actresses trying to be cast as Jessica Jones, a role Krysten Ritter won.

Daddario even said she would be open to appearing in a Wonder Woman movie. Since Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman 3 was cancelled, the door for that to finally happen has been swung open. The DCU includes a Wonder Woman movie in development, with Supergirl‘s Ana Nogueira penning it. With casting some time away, Daddario has emerged as a DCU Wonder Woman fan-favorite.

On DeviantArt, user @thotproduction shared what Alexandra Daddario could look like as the Wonder Woman of James Gunn’s DC Universe.

The fan art sees Daddario don a very different kind of Wonder Woman suit. Instead of featuring the same armored look Gal Gadot wore in multiple DCEU movies, Daddario’s Wonder Woman sports a darker red and blue color scheme that invokes a bigger connection to her Amazon heritage. Instead of a sword, she carries a spear, another change.

What The DCU Alexandra Daddario Wonder Woman Art Means

The DC Universe’s upcoming movies include a Superman sequel, with Superman and Lex Luthor teaming up in Man of Tomorrow; Batman’s DCU debut, The Brave and the Bold, with Damian Wayne, his son, appearing; and Wonder Woman’s DCU solo movie. As such, it is clear that James Gunn intends for DC Comics’ iconic Trinity to play a key role in the new franchise.

The DCU’s Wonder Woman casting will then have to reflect that plan. As the fan art shows, Daddario looks pitch-perfect as Wonder Woman, and she could help make the character visually different from Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman in the old DCEU, which is a path Gunn might be open to exploring. That said, the Wonder Woman art has no impact on the casting process.

What should help Daddario is her experience in a major franchise like Percy Jackson, her lead role in Mayfair Witches, a successful show renewed for its third season, and the fact that the actress voiced DC’s Lois Lane in multiple animated movies. Not only is she no stranger to DC, but Daddario’s skills are something Gunn revealed every DCU actor should explore.

Our Take On The DCU Alexandra Daddario Wonder Woman Art

After seeing Alexandra Daddario suit up as Wonder Woman in the DCU fan art and how different from Gal Gadot’s Diana Prince she could make the character look, casting her as the DC hero would be a fantastic choice. Beyond her looks, the actress has proven time and again that she could make Wonder Woman soar in the DCU.

Daddario’s roles feature a range of charismatic characters, with the actress able to make her Wonder Woman close in tone to David Corenswet’s Superman. The DCU’s Wonder Woman could be a warrior, but also extremely caring and compᴀssionate. Alexandra Daddario would bring out the best in Wonder Woman, so I hope she can at least audition for the role.
