The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ Disney+ Release Can Maintain A Perfect 2025 MCU Streak

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is the biggest Marvel Cinematic Universe movie of the year, which is why the movie should have no problem cementing a franchise streak when it releases on Disney+ in the near future. After some divisive Fantastic Four movies, including the ill-received 2015 reboot, Marvel’s First Family finally came home in the final MCU movie of 2025.

Sadly, the year was not great for the MCU at the box office. While Thunderbolts* and The Fantastic Four: First Steps were met with positive reviews, unlike Captain America: Brave New World, none of the films was a hit. Still, the MCU’s Fantastic Four movie is the best performer. That can carry over into a streaming streak for future MCU movies to build on.

All 2025 MCU Movies Have Been Hits On Disney+

Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts* might have struggled at the box office, but both movies gave Marvel reasons to be happy after their theatrical runs finished. Given how few watched the films in theaters, that seemingly translated into huge interest in both MCU movies when the time came for them to release on Disney+.

Captain America: Brave New World was available on Disney+ on May 28, 2025. It did not take long at all for the movie to become the most-watched film on Disney+ globally, with the MCU’s latest Captain America movie also topping the Nielsen Streaming Chart, making it the most-watched movie in its release week in the United States when counting all streaming services.

Thunderbolts* also rose to the number 1 spot on Disney+ when it arrived on the streamer recently, on August 27. Currently, the MCU movie sits at #2 worldwide, with the live-action Lilo & Sтιтch taking over the top spot on Disney+. Captain America: Brave New World is also holding on to the streamer’s charts, ranking 9th worldwide for Disney+ viewers.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Already Proved It Can Lead Disney+ In A Major Way

The Fantastic Four: First Steps could then continue the MCU’s streak, as all 2025 MCU movies could take the top spot on Disney+. The latest Marvel movie even has two very clear signs that it will make good on that. The first is the fact that the Fantastic Four reboot is Marvel’s most successful 2025 movie, grossing $515.5 million worldwide so far.

Additionally, The Fantastic Four: First Steps has already surged on Disney+ even before being released on streaming. That is because of a preview for that movie that managed to rise to be the 2nd most-watched movie on Disney+. With The Fantastic Four: First Steps likely arriving on Disney+ in November, it should not take long for the MCU streak to be confirmed.
