Jurᴀssic World Rebirth’s 11 Dinosaurs, Ranked Smallest To Largest (#1 May Surprise You)

This summer, audiences once again proved that they love watching dinosaurs of all kinds on the big screen by flocking to theaters to see Jurᴀssic World Rebirth. Just like the previous three Jurᴀssic World movies, Rebirth was a major box office success. Throughout its theatrical run, the film managed to make $860 million globally (via Box Office Mojo).

This impressive box office haul makes it the fourth highest grossing movie of the year so far and bodes well for the future of the franchise. Even though reviews for Jurᴀssic World Rebirth were somewhat underwhelming, especially since it was supposed to be the start of a new era for the long-running franchise, the audience turnout proves that the series can’t end.

While a lot of critics picked apart Rebirth’s shallow story, general audiences loved seeing their favorite dinosaurs in action once again. The movie may have flaws, but it can’t be denied that it’s amazing to watch the wide array of dinosaurs in Jurᴀssic World Rebirth. Therefore, here are all of Jurᴀssic World Rebirth’s dinosaurs, ranked from smallest to largest:

Aquilops

The Aquilops is easily the smallest dinosaur in Jurᴀssic World Rebirth. It is the size of a house cat or a puppy, and it is essentially treated like a pet in the movie. After being stranded on the island, Isabella Delgado encounters the Aquilops and quickly forms a bond with it, eventually deciding to name it Dolores.

As they try to make their way off the island, Isabella carries Dolores in her backpack, which proves just how small the Aquilops is. In addition to being the smallest dinosaur in the movie, Dolores is also the friendliest creature in Jurᴀssic World Rebirth, which has made it a fan-favorite for younger audiences watching the newest entry in the franchise.

Dilophosaurus

The Dilophosaurus is briefly featured in Jurᴀssic World Rebirth when Teresa Delgado is trying to obtain a raft so that she and her family can travel down the river. It initially seems set on attacking Teresa, but flees the area when it realizes the menacing Tyrannosaurus rex is nearby.

This appearance proves that the Dilophosaurus is one of the least intimidating dinosaurs in Jurᴀssic World Rebirth. Therefore, it makes sense that it’s one of the smallest dinosaurs in the film, as well. In real life, fully grown Dilophosaurus’ were six or seven feet tall, and the one featured in Rebirth seems to be about the same height as Teresa.

Velociraptor

Just like the Dilophosarus, Velociraptors are only briefly featured in Jurᴀssic World Rebirth. In previous movies in the franchise, they have been some of the most terrifying creatures, but Jurᴀssic World Rebirth nerfs raptors and solely uses them to establish Mutadons as a terrifying new species of hybrid dinosaurs.

In the franchise’s newest movie, raptors are only about 5 feet tall, but 12 feet long, which means they have a bigger overall mᴀss than the Dilophosaurus featured in the film. Their smaller size has always allowed them to move quicker, but audiences don’t get to see raptors in action in Jurᴀssic World Rebirth since the two that are included are quickly killed by Mutadons.

Mutadon

Since Mutadons are quickly established to be scarier than raptors in Jurᴀssic World Rebirth, it makes sense that they are larger than them. Mutadons are one of the two hybrid dinosaur species introduced in the movie. After killing the two raptors early in the movie, the Mutadons return at the end of Jurᴀssic World Rebirth and create a lot of problems for the characters.

In the film, Mutadons are 16 feet in length and their wingspan is 30 feet. Just like raptors, Mutadons can move incredibly quickly, and can even retract their wings to fit into тιԍнт places. This easily makes them one of the most dangerous dinosaur species featured in Jurᴀssic World Rebirth.

Ankylosaurus

Unlike Mutadons, the Ankylosaurus is a peaceful creature in Jurᴀssic World Rebirth. An Akylosaurus is actually only featured briefly at the end of the movie when Martin Krebs abandons the characters and tries to escape the island in the jeep. While driving down to the dock, he has to swerve to avoid an Ankylosaurus, which is walking across the road.

Since it is about 31 feet long and 10 feet tall, the Ankylosaurus creates quite the roadblock for Krebs. Ankylosaurus’ have a reputation for essentially being living tanks, and its impressive size is accurate to its real-life counterparts that used to walk the Earth.

Quetzalcoatlus

The aforementioned Mutadons may be terrifying winged creatures in Jurᴀssic World Rebirth, but they can’t stack up against Quetzalcoatlus’. About halfway through the movie, Zora and her team attempt to sneak into a Quetzalcoatlus nest to retrieve the DNA from an egg. They do indeed escape with the DNA, but this bone-chilling sequence proves just how dangerous Quetzalcoatlus’ are.

The Quetzalcoatlus is 16 feet tall with a wingspan of 39 feet in Rebirth. Its imposing size and flying ability makes it one of the most ᴅᴇᴀᴅly creatures Zora and her team encounter in the movie. LeClerc being swallowed whole by the Quetzalcoatlus is easily the most terrifying death in Jurᴀssic World Rebirth.

Spinosaurus

Just like the Quetzalcoatlus, Spinosaurus’ are ᴅᴇᴀᴅly creatures in Jurᴀssic World Rebirth. The Spinosaurus is a fan-favorite dinosaur species that previously hadn’t been featured since 2001’s Jurᴀssic Park III, so fans rejoiced when they learned several of them would appear in Rebirth.

Spinosaurus’ definitely didn’t disappoint in the new movie, as they were responsible for the deaths of both Bobby and Nina, two members of Zora’s team. The Spinosaurus’ in Jurᴀssic World Rebirth are 40 feet in length and 13 feet tall. Even though they are shorter than Quetzalcoatlus’, they have more body mᴀss, which is why they are placed higher on this list.

Tyrannosaurus Rex

Rebirth wouldn’t have left like a proper Jurᴀssic World movie if the king of the franchise didn’t make an appearance. Thankfully, an entire sequence in Jurᴀssic World Rebirth is dedicated to showing how terrifying the T-rex is. For most fans and critics, the T-rex river chase scene is easily the highlight of the movie, which proves this species might never be topped.

The T-rex in Jurᴀssic World Rebirth is 41 feet long and 15 feet tall, making it slightly bigger than the Spinosaurus’. Fans of the franchise have long debated whether the T-rex or Spinosaurus is more dangerous. While Spinosaurus’ are indeed dangerous in the new movie, the aura of the T-rex simply can’t be topped, so it makes sense that it is one of the largest dinosaurs in the film.

Distortus Rex

Even though the T-rex is the king of the franchise, the Distortus rex is the final boss of Jurᴀssic World Rebirth. Along with Mutadons, the D-rex is the other hybrid dinosaur created by InGen and left behind on Île Saint-Hubert. The D-rex’s design was inspired by Star Wars’ Rancor and Alien’s Xenomorph, and it is undeniably terrifying in Rebirth.

At 47 feet long and 26 feet tall, the D-rex is also one of the biggest dinosaurs in Jurᴀssic World Rebirth. Its imposing size allows it to easily take down a helicopter during the climax of the movie. The creative team behind the movie clearly wanted the D-rex to be remembered as one of the franchise’s scariest dinosaurs, so its immense size was a must.

тιтanosaurus

Even though the D-rex was designed to be mᴀssive, it still can’t top the тιтanosaurus’, which are some of the biggest dinosaurs ever to appear in the franchise. The тιтanosaurus’ are the largest land-based dinosaurs on Île Saint-Hubert, which is why Zora and her team retrieve their DNA in the middle of the movie.

While they are herbivores, and therefore not that threatening, the тιтanosaurus’ in Jurᴀssic World Rebirth are mᴀssive. They are about 67 feet long and 51 feet tall. This makes them a sight to behold when Zora and the other characters are walking through the lush valley on the island.
