More details have been revealed about the Joker in the DC Universe through the upcoming Clayface movie. While DC Studios is still developing The Brave and the Bold movie, which will introduce the James Gunn franchise’s version of Batman, 2026 will give audiences the big-screen debut of one of his most popular villains.
Set to be an R-rated horror installment for the DCU’s Chapter 1: “Gods and Monsters” slate, the Clayface movie will bring the iconic shape-shifting foe into the world of live-action. Even though the тιтular villain is the focus of the 2026 entry, production has been alluding to other famous foes from the Caped Crusader’s mythology.
New set pH๏τos from @whitewidow616 were shared on X; these several sH๏τs from the production currently taking place in Liverpool, United Kingdom, and one of them highlights one of Bruce Wayne’s most iconic enemies. While providing a closer look at the DCU’s Gotham City, it’s one of the posters that is getting a lot of attention.

On this poster are the words, “Corruption is the ENEMY of the people,” followed by “March against the G.C.P.D. Park Row, Gotham, This Saturday 2 PM,” before ending with “JOIN THE JOKER” in bolded letters. While the pH๏τo on the poster is in black-and-white, it specifically features GCPD cops.
What The Clayface Set PH๏τos Reveal About The DCU’s Joker
This isn’t the first time that he has been alluded to, as the Joker was teased in previous Clayface set pH๏τos, confirming that he is already established in this franchise’s setting. With these set images, “Join The Joker” sparks the idea that he is currently recruiting followers for a cause against the GCPD.
While they may not have cast an actor yet in the monumental villain role, it makes sense that the Clown Prince of Crime is being referenced early. That doesn’t necessarily mean that the DC foe will actually appear in the Clayface movie, but it’s a way to cleverly foreshadow his presence in the DCU timeline down the line.
Our Take On The Clayface Set PH๏τos & The DCU’s Joker
While the version of Clayface that audience members will see in 2026 may not cross paths with the Joker in this solo film, it’s fascinating to see how DC Studios is setting up a very different take on Batman’s nemesis. Given how many times he has been explored in live-action and animation, the DCU clearly wants to add some new layers to him.
This is one of the benefits of Gunn’s continuity having already established versions of some of the bigger DC heroes and villains, while also tackling new territory for them. Hopefully, more teases about the larger DCU will be revealed in future Clayface set pH๏τos.
