US-Iran War: Fire On USS Gerald R Ford Rages For Hours, Took Over 30 Hours To Contain.hl

A serious fire broke out aboard the USS Gerald R. Ford supercarrier on March 18, 2026, burning for several hours and requiring more than 30 hours to fully contain. The blaze, which started in a lower deck maintenance area, spread through parts of the ship’s complex internal systems during high-intensity combat operations in the US-Iran War. Thick smoke filled multiple compartments as the crew fought the flames while continuing essential flight operations.

Damage control teams worked around the clock in extreme conditions, displaying the legendary professionalism and courage of American sailors. The fire has now been extinguished, and the carrier remains fully operational. No fatalities have been reported, though several sailors suffered smoke inhalation and minor injuries and are receiving immediate medical care.

Despite the incident, the Ford strike group continues to project overwhelming power in the region. Its F-35C squadrons have maintained relentless sorties supporting strikes on Iranian targets and protecting critical shipping lanes in the Strait of Hormuz, where U.S. Marines and Navy teams are actively clearing Iranian mines.

This challenge comes as Iran’s regime faces total collapse. Just hours earlier, U.S. strikes left thousands of IRGC troops trapped in burning underground tunnels, while Iran’s missile capabilities remain over 93% destroyed following the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Tehran’s desperate revenge attacks — cluster bombs on Tel Aviv, Shahed drones on Dubai, and suspected terror strikes on U.S. soil — have achieved little beyond exposing its weakness and barbarity.

President Trump addressed the situation directly: “Our sailors are the toughest warriors on Earth. A fire won’t stop the most powerful navy in history. We are crushing the Iranian regime and nothing will slow us down.”

The contrast remains striking. While American sailors battle flames at sea with discipline and courage, the Iranian regime hides its soldiers underground only to watch them burn, and launches indiscriminate attacks on civilians when its military fails.

This incident will not derail America’s mission. The USS Gerald R. Ford will undergo rapid repairs and return even stronger. The US-Israel alliance continues to dominate the battlefield. Iran’s days of terror and aggression are ending through superior strength, technology, and unbreakable resolve.
