Stephen King had one condition for The Long Walk, and that was to properly adapt the brutality of the source material. In many ways, this makes The Long Walk an unsettling movie, but it also allows for some exceptional performances from its main cast members. Here is where you may have seen each one of them before.

Cooper Hoffman

One of the younger leads in The Long Walk is Cooper Hoffman. The son of late actor Philip Seymour Hoffman, Cooper Hoffman is quickly making a name for himself in Hollywood. Since 2021, Hoffman has appeared in movies like Paul Thomas Anderson’s Licorice Pizza, Wildcat, Old Guy, and Saturday Night.

The Long Walk marks his most recent appearance in a Hollywood movie, with Hoffman being singled out as one of the film’s best performers. David Jonsson

Charlie Plummer

Mark Hamill

Mark Hamill is best known for his role as Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise, but he has many other well-known roles, too. Hamill has a prolific voice-acting career, having appeared as the classic Batman villain, the Joker, in several projects. He also voiced Fire Lord Ozai in Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Judy Greer

The other main adult characters in The Long Walk are the parents of Hoffman’s Raymond Garraty. The mother of Raymond is portrayed by Judy Greer. Greer is a prolific character actor and will be known for her many different roles in the industry.

Some of Greer’s earlier film appearances include What Women Want, 13 Going on 30, and The Village, to name a tiny handful. More recently, Greer has appeared in Jurᴀssic World, the MCU’s Ant-Man franchise, and the recent Halloween movies: Halloween and Halloween Kills.

The final major cast member in The Long Walk is Mr. Garraty, Raymond’s father, played by Josh Hamilton. As with Greer, Hamilton can be described as a character actor. Some of Hamilton’s better-known movies include Manchester by the Sea, The Meyerowitz Stories, and Eighth Grade, with Hamilton also appearing in several big TV shows.
