A LEGO fan has created an incredibly impressive custom Star Wars model. Inspired by the first ship Luke Skywalker ever flew before he left his home on Tatooine, this new custom model is easily one of the cleanest I’ve ever seen.
Before joining Obi-Wan Kenobi and starting his path to become a Jedi in A New Hope, Luke Skywalker was a moisture farmer dreaming of big adventures. However, he had some previous piloting skills before hopping into an X-Wing, thanks to his T-16 Skyhopper. Now, one collector has created a fantastic custom of Luke’s T-16, completely blowing away official LEGO models.

Designed by @juergen_wittner and posted on Instagram, this new custom LEGO T-16 is truly a sight to behold.
Confirmed to be 1/16 scale, the model was built using 4,600 parts, effectively giving it an Ultimate Collector Series model if it were an official Star Wars LEGO set. The post also reveals that the full set is an impressive 25.5 inches wide, 30 inches tall, and 16.5 inches long.
However, the craziest thing about this new Star Wars LEGO set is that it doesn’t even look like it was made using LEGO at a first glance. This is due to all the flat pieces used in the construction, meaning almost zero studs are exposed, like you typically see on official LEGO models.
Likewise, @juergen_wittner has also created a brick-built Luke to stand underneath the T-16, rather than using a more traditional minifigure. That said, it’s quite remarkable how much detail the designer was able to depict with this more unique figure, as it’s undoubtedly meant to be Luke Skywalker.
Furthermore, some brick-built womp rats Luke used to bullseye in his T-16 back home are also included (the perfect cherry on top for this custom build).
In A New Hope itself, we only ever saw Luke holding a model of his T-16 Skyhopper on-screen (given to him by Obi-Wan Kenobi when he was a child).
However, the T-16 Skyhopper is still a critical part of Luke Skywalker’s journey in A New Hope, justifying his future recruitment as an X-Wing pilot for the Rebel Alliance, while also aiding in his one-in-a-million sH๏τ to blow up the Death Star, trusting in the Force and his own skill (rather than a targeting computer).
