The Hulk’s Best Future Just Got Even More Likely Thanks To Tom Holland’s Recent Comments

Tom Holland’s comments about Spider-Man: Brand New Day‘s plot support the theory that the MCU movie will fulfill fans’ Hulk expectations. Destin Daniel Cretton’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to reintegrate the wall-crawler into the superhero scene after Peter Parker was erased from the world’s memories. At the same time, the MCU’s Punisher will make his big-screen debut and Hulk will return.

In an interview with LADbible, Tom Holland addressed his Marvel future and his MCU return in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Holland revealed he has been “actively sifting through the internet and trying to best understand what it is that the fans want from a Spider-Man movie.” Holland emphasized that he’s making sure Spider-Man: Brand New Day is a movie that pleases die-hard fans.

Tom Holland is an outspoken Marvel fan, and he has been quite proactive in creating the MCU’s Spider-Man lore in close collaboration with Marvel. As evidenced by Holland’s LADbible interview, Holland wants to take advantage of Spider-Man: Brand New Day‘s fresh start to present a love letter to Spidey and Marvel fans worldwide. This means the Phase 6 movie will likely be packed with surprises.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will reportedly open with a montage sequence that replicates several comic covers. This provides the opportunity to introduce multiple comic-accurate villains and different variants of Peter Parker’s new Spider-Man suit. Spider-Man: Brand New Day‘s opening sequence could be similar to The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which paid homage to the team’s classic battles.

The fan-service possibilities are endless. Spider-Man: Brand New Day might feature Michael Mando’s Mac Gargan in his Scorpion suit, the return of already introduced villains like the Prowler and Shocker, and cameos by new, lesser-known villains like Tarantula and Tombstone. After eleven Spider-Man movie appearances, there are still plenty of enemies Spidey hasn’t fought on screen.

If The Hulk Is Ever Going To Revert Forms, It Seems Spider-Man: Brand New Day Is The Time

Hulk’s role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day is still under wraps, but his return in Phase 6 evidently opens the door for Smart Hulk’s transformation into Savage Hulk. Hulk’s supporting appearance in Spider-Man: Brand New Day comes at the perfect time for a significant role by Savage Hulk in Avengers: Doomsday. Spider-Man’s next MCU villain could hold the key to make this happen.

Beyond mere theories, Tom Holland’s comments about pleasing fans only reinforce the idea that Savage Hulk’s long-awaited return will take place in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The Punisher, Scorpion, and Hulk’s returns will likely bring fans at least one surprise each. And of course, Savage Hulk has much more to offer than Smart Hulk.

By 2026, it will be eight years since Savage Hulk’s last on-screen battle, nine since his last victory, and fourteen since Bruce Banner’s last full on-screen Hulk transformation. If there’s any Hulk fan service in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, it will probably address these mistakes. An action scene where Bruce Banner transforms into Hulk on screen, fights multiple characters, and wins, is likely.

Bringing The Original Hulk Back Right Now Would Make Sense For Multiple Reasons

Savage Hulk’s return would be overshadowed by other twists in Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars, and it would come too late in Phase 7. Instead, Spider-Man: Brand New Day may have enough room for a Hulk-focused sequence. This is especially important considering Bruce Banner and Hulk has been a supporting character for the last fourteen years.

Once Bruce Banner loses control of his Gamma-powered alter ego in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the original Hulk may become a key player in Avengers: Doomsday. Savage Hulk could be weaponized by Doctor Doom, or he could be one of Doom’s most powerful enemies. Afterward, future MCU projects could once again center on Bruce Banner’s eternal conflict with the Hulk, which remains developed quite superficially to this date.
