Sydney Sweeney enters the new DC Universe as its version of Wonder Woman in exciting DCU art. Sweeney has become one of the most in-demand actresses in Hollywood, with a series of roles under her belt that include buzzy projects like The White Lotus, Euphoria, Anyone but You, and many more. Getting the actress would be big for DC’s upcoming movies.
With Sweeney a popular star, DC fans have started to imagine how the actress could fit into the DCU’s slate of projects. A few recurring picks are Black Canary, Power Girl, and so on. However, DC has its biggest female superhero currently up for grabs. The DCU Wonder Woman movie is being written and will enter production immediately after the script is ready.
On DeviantArt, user Minsc93 shared what Sydney Sweeney could look like as the DC Universe’s Wonder Woman.
Sweeney’s Diana Prince dons the same armored look Gal Gadot made famous in the old DCEU franchise. She also sports darker hair to fit what Wonder Woman is expected to look like in the DCU, with the art letting go of the actress’ blonde hair. Sweeney looks ready to take on the DCU.
What The Sydney Sweeney Wonder Woman DCU Art Means
Sydney Sweeney already has live-action experience playing a superhero. Well, kind of. The actress was one of the main stars of Sony’s Madame Web. Sadly, the movie was subpar, becoming a major box office bomb. Sweeney played Julia Cornwall, who becomes one of Madame Web‘s Spider-Women. However, that only happens in brief flashes from the future.
Sweeney has been part of major movies and TV shows, being able to succeed in comedic moments, with impeccable timing, and dramatic scenes. Euphoria is a project that really shows her dramatic range, with Sweeney playing Cᴀssie, an extremely complicated character. Diana Prince would not necessarily be as much of a mess, but Sweeney can make her complex.
The actress has the skills to imbue Wonder Woman with many different layers. The DCU’s Wonder Woman should be a warrior who is full of compᴀssion. She also should be able to work with moments of levity and emotional beats alike. Sweeney’s projects have shown that the actress is the whole package.
Our Take On The Sydney Sweeney Wonder Woman DCU Art
While she might not look as much like Wonder Woman in the comics as some of the other popular fancasts for the DCU Diana Prince, such as Alexandra Daddario and Ana de Armas, Sweeney would be a solid pick for Wonder Woman. Her Anyone but You co-star, Glen Powell, has already said that he would love to play Batman.
Having Powell as Batman and Sweeney as Wonder Woman would bring incredible chemistry to the DCU’s Trinity. That said, Sweeney does not need another actor around her to prove she has what it takes to play Wonder Woman. With the actress open to joining the MCU as her Madame Web character, Sydney Sweeney would likely consider playing DC’s Wonder Woman if offered.
