The home media release dates for Weapons have been revealed. The horror movie, which debuted in theaters on August 8, is director Zach Cregger’s follow-up to his 2022 hit Barbarian. It takes place in a small town that is reeling from the mᴀss disappearance of 17 elementary school students and stars Julia Garner, Josh Brolin, Alden Ehrenreich, and Amy Madigan.
Weapons reviews have been superb, earning the movie a Certified Fresh 94% score from critics and a Verified H๏τ 85% score from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. It has also been a commercial success, grossing $240 million worldwide at the time of writing against its reported $38 million budget, making it the third highest-grossing horror movie of the year to date.
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has announced that Weapons will officially debut on digital on September 9. The movie will be available in both high definition and standard definition across a variety of video on demand platforms, including Prime Video, Apple TV, Fandango at Home (formerly Vudu), and more.
The Weapons digital release will be followed by a physical media release on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD on October 14. The movie will be available to purchase in these formats both in stores and online. Below, see the official box art for the Blu-Ray and 4K UHD releases of Weapons:
Three featurettes will accompany the Weapons release on Digital, Blu-Ray, and 4K UHD (but not DVD). See a breakdown of the special features below:

Weapons: Texture of Terror

What This Means For Weapons
While Weapons is still thriving in theaters and most recently took No. 1 for the third time at the domestic box office during its fourth weekend, this digital release date comes at the right time.
The horror sequel The Conjuring: Last Rites is expected to take No. 1 when it premieres during Weapons‘ fifth weekend and will most likely take up most of the attention of horror’s core demographics. While both тιтles could benefit from the approaching beginning of the Halloween season, during which horror тιтles are widely viewed, Weapons‘ reign is reaching its end.
The mid-October physical media release date could also be a boon for 2025’s Weapons. It will strike at exactly the time that theatrical horror releases are beginning to dry up, as there are no major horror тιтles scheduled to debut between the October 17 release of Black Phone 2 and Halloween.
Our Take On The Weapons Update
This update for Weapons is especially gratifying because Barbarian did not have a widely available physical media release. Should Zach Cregger’s new movie sell well, it’s possible that this could boost support for a physical release of the 2022 hit, potentially in a box set with his new movie, allowing it to reach an even wider audience.
