A brand-new teaser has arrived for Wicked: For Good, the highly anticipated second part to 2024’s smash hit Wicked. The sequel arrives in theaters on November 21, 2025, adapting the second act of the Broadway musical of the same name, which was inspired by the novel by Gregory Maguire that reinvented the backstory of the Wicked Witch of the West.
Again starring Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda the Good Witch, the upcoming Wicked: For Good will see the two witches driven further apart by Oz’s heightening conflict. The end of the 2024 movie saw Elphaba asking for Glinda to join her, only for Glinda to choose to stand alongside the establishment of Oz.
A new teaser for the movie has premiered on the official Wicked: For Good YouTube channel. The teaser follows Glinda going about her daily life and centers on the use of the word “good,” including a moment where she is checking the work of her fellow Shiz students.
It also features an intense conversation between Glinda and Fiyero (Jonathan Bailey) where he makes a comment about how she “can’t resist” her life of fame and fortune. When she asks who could, he says, “you know who could,” forcing them both to think of the now publicly reviled Elphaba. Check out the teaser below:
What This Means For Wicked: For Good
Although the new teaser is only a short video, it digs much deeper into the character of Glinda than the previous Wicked: For Good trailer. It does show by showing the dicH๏τomy between how perfect her life looks on the outside and the guilt and pain she secretly feels when she is forced to stand against her friend.
Wicked followed Glinda and Elphaba slowly bonding after initially loathing each other when they were ᴀssigned to be one another’s roommates at Shiz.
The scene between Glinda and Fiyero further emphasizes the issues at the center of the story. Fiyero was once a burgeoning love interest of Elphaba’s, so the fact that he is also allied with Oz’s established powers and with Glinda herself has driven a further wedge between the group of friends.
Our Take On The New Wicked: For Good Teaser
2024’s Wicked did not lack its share of intense moments, as the movie took place in a version of Oz that was being taken over by a creeping fascistic force. This led to moments such as the Shiz professor Dr. Dillamond (Peter Dinklage), a talking goat, being arrested during class amid widespread anti-talking-animal sentiment.
However, this teaser for Wicked: For Good promises that the sequel will be even more intense as the characters’ interpersonal tensions mount to the same degree as the political turmoil of their land.
