“Legitimately, I Swear To You”: Popular Marvel Star Doesn’t Know If They Are In Avengers: Doomsday

A major Marvel Cinematic Universe star has yet to hear if she will be back for Avengers: Doomsday. So far, the Multiverse Saga has yet to add a new movie to the MCU’s Avengers franchise. The lack of a film starring Earth’s Mightiest Heroes has been one of the biggest criticisms faced by Marvel over the past few years.

That will soon be fixed with two Avengers movies. Marvel has already confirmed many returning actors for Avengers: Doomsday‘s cast, with reports stating others, such as Ryan Reynolds and Chris Evans, are also in the upcoming MCU movie. One of the biggest MCU movies opened the door for a certain star to return, and she now addresses her Avengers: Doomsday status.

Speaking to ScreenRant‘s own Joe Deckelmeier at FAN EXPO Canada, Dafne Keen revealed whether she could be back for Avengers: Doomsday. According to the X-23 actress, she has no idea where things stand regarding her possibly appearing in the movie. Based on ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine‘s ending, it would make sense for her to return. Check out the full exchange below:

ScreenRant: I gotta ask you, are you in Avengers: Doomsday?

Dafne Keen: I actually have no idea, like, legitimately, I swear to you… I literally, right now, I have no idea. I’ve not heard.

What Dafne Keen’s New Avengers: Doomsday Comments Mean

Keen’s latest comments do not rule out her being in Avengers: Doomsday. While the MCU movie has been filming for a few months, the Avengers film has a unique schedule due to how many stars are in it, so Keen could shoot her scenes later. Reshoots could also explain why she does not know whether she appears, as Keen could be added in them.

That said, there is a chance Keen might already know that X-23 will be in Avengers: Doomsday. At FAN EXPO Canada’s The Acolyte panel, the Marvel actress also talked about how she had to lie during interviews to keep her ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine return a secret. As such, the same could be in play for Avengers: Doomsday, which is an even more secretive movie.

It would make more sense for X-23 to be in the next Avengers movie than not. ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine ended with Reynolds’ ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, and Dafne Keen’s Laura together at Wade Wilson’s apartment. With Reynolds reportedly in Avengers: Doomsday, Wolverine and X-23 should be back by his side to help, especially since their universe could be in danger.

Dafne Keen’s latest Avengers: Doomsday comments should not spell doom for her chances of appearing in the MCU movie. The next Avengers film has managed to closely guard its secrets up to this point, with set pH๏τos and videos kept to a minimum, which differs greatly from the very public productions of movies like Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

As such, if a character as big as X-23 were to come back for the Avengers movie, Marvel would likely try to keep it a secret. If the actress is being truthful, then the studio still has plenty of time to approach Keen for an Avengers: Doomsday role. That said, Avengers: Secret Wars remains an option if she is not in Doomsday.
