Millions of subscribers around the world are always looking for something new to watch on Netflix. They don’t have to be brand new releases, as Netflix’s back catalog is filled with some tremendous films from over the past few decades. There’s a great handful to check out his week.

Fast Five (2011)

One of the most recent additions to Netflix’s back catalog is several entries in the Fast and Furious franchise. However, if you pick just one, it should be Fast Five.

Fast Five also works as a great heist movie, with characters from across the early movies coming together to steal from a corrupt businessman. It’s the first real incarnation of the team that has continued in later films. Plus, it marks the debut of Dwayne Johnson’s Hobbs character.

Heart Eyes (2025)

At this point, we’ve basically seen every kind of slasher movie there is. Whether it’s the classic ones that made the subgenre famous in the ’70s and ’80s, the meta slashers that rejuvenated it in the ’90s, or comedic parodies, so many have been done. That’s what makes Heart Eyes stand out so much.

Heart Eyes is a slasher movie but it’s also a romantic comedy. The film stars Olivia Holt and Mason Gooding as two co-workers who get mistaken for a couple by a serial killer who attacks couples on Valentine’s Day. Of course, the two main characters ultimately fall for each other during this spectacle.

The film was overlooked by audiences when it hit theaters but was met wth a positive response, holding a 78% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It was praised for the rom-com aspects as well as the creative and often brutal kills, so fans of both genres should enjoy this.

RRR (2022)

You’d be hard-pressed to find a more action-packed and emotionally driven movie in recent memory than RRR. This international film from India took Netflix by storm when it hit the platform in 2022 because of how over-the-top it is, in the best way possible.

The movie tells the story of the bond formed between two revolutionaries in the 1920s, done on the most epic scale possible. There are shocking plot twists, absurd action sequences, breathtaking visual effects, and even catchy musical numbers.

In fact, RRR won the Academy Award for Best Original Song. The movie uses all three hours to perfection, telling a story that never drags and not only keeps you interested but has you on the edge of your seat. It’s a must-watch as one of the best films available on Netflix.

Clueless (1995)

There aren’t many ’90s movies more iconic than Clueless. This modern retelling of Jane Austen’s Emma has become a pop culture staple in the decades since it was released, influencing dialogue, fashion, and more throughout the years.

It also features several breakout actors like Alicia Silverstone, Paul Rudd, and the late Brittany Murphy. Clueless is still quoted to this day and is held in high esteem as one of the best teen romantic comedies ever put on the big screen.

On top of its success as a film, Clueless has also been spun off into a TV show, stage musical, books, comics, and more. Reviews were strong when this was first released and acclaim has only gotten stronger over time as more people have come to appreciate what makes it so great.

The Wild Robot (2024)

Animated movies in the 2020s have been something special. From hidden gems like Wolfwalkers to blockbuster hits like Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse to international Oscar winners like Flow, there’s a lot to choose from. So the fact that The Wild Robot might be the best of them all is telling.

The Wild Robot follows a service robot that gets shipwrecked on an island and adapts to its surroundings, finding friendship with other animals and becoming a mother figure to an orphaned goose. That sets the stage for an emotionally gripping adventure.

Everything about The Wild Robot is special. The voice cast features greats like Lupita Nyong’o, Pedro Pascal, Catherine O’Hara, and Matt Berry, while the animation style is stunning, and the story of found family is beautiful. The perfect movie for the whole family to enjoy on Netflix.
