FAN EXPO Canada is taking over Toronto once again with 4 days full of celebrity guests and pop culture fun. The convention, taking place from August 21-24 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, brings together some of the biggest names in Hollywood from film, television, anime, and gaming. The convention also features comic guests like Jim Lee and Jeph Loeb, some of the top cosplayers from the industry, Dungeons & Dragons live play, activations from Netflix and Disney+, and so much more.
The guests at this year’s FAN EXPO Canada include Superman actors such as Tom Welling and Tyler Hoechlin, Avatar: The Last Airbender voice actors, Twilight cast members, and more. Fans can meet these celebrities for autographs, purchase a pH๏τo op with their favorites, or hear them share stories during their panels. There really is something for everyone.

Bob Gale
Known for the Back to the Future trilogy
Back to the Future is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and the movie wouldn’t exist without Bob Gale, who wrote all three films in the trilogy alongside director Robert Zemeckis. Gale is joined at FAN EXPO Canada by a number of stars from the beloved science fiction films, including Michael J. Fox (Marty McFly), Christopher Lloyd (Doc Brown), Mary Steenburgen (Clara Clayton), Claudia Wells (Jennifer Parker), and James Tolkan (Principal Strickland). Catch his panel alongside Steenburgen on Saturday at 2:00 PM in Theatre 2.

Richard Horvitz has had an extensive career as a voice actor, appearing in TV shows and video games such as Invader Zim, The Angry Beavers, Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, Ratchet & Clank, and many others. His latest role has been voicing the ᴀssᴀssin Moxxie in Helluva Boss, which will be released on Amazon Prime on September 10. X-Men: The Animated Series was a classic Marvel show full of memorable storylines and voice performances. The Disney+ sequel, X-Men ‘97, saw the return of many of these actors, including Alison Sealy-Smith in her iconic role as the weather-controlling mutant Storm. Having originated the role of Captain Kirk in Star Trek: The Original Series, William Shatner is a legend in the convention scene. His panels are always filled with behind-the-scenes stories from the show, his time in Hollywood, life, and of course, his adventures in space. Christopher Lloyd
Known for the Back to the Future trilogy, The Addams Family
The Back to the Future celebrations continue at FAN EXPO Canada with a panel featuring Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd on Friday at 7:00 PM in the Main Theatre about the legacy and anniversary of the film. Lloyd captured fans’ imaginations as the time machine creating scientist Doc Brown in the trilogy, as well as starring as the zany, but caring Uncle Fester in The Addams Family and Addams Family Values. Hearing Lloyd and Fox reminisce about the beloved 80s movie is always a treat and the panel is not to be missed.

Brandon Routh
Known for Superman Returns, Legends of Tomorrow
Brandon Routh has played two different superheroes across the DC universe. In 2006, he starred in the Superman Returns movie before joining the Arrowverse as Ray Palmer/the Atom. He doesn’t always play the hero though. In Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Routh plays Todd Ingram, one of the evil ex-boyfriends of Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead). At FAN EXPO Canada, Routh will appear alongside fellow Superman actors Tom Welling, Tyler Hoechlin, Tim Daly, and George Newbern to honor the legacy of the Man of Steel. The panel takes place Sunday at 2:45 PM in the Main Theatre.

Neil Newbon
Known for Baldur’s Gate 3
In Baldur’s Gate 3, Neil Newbon voices the sarcastic elf rouge turned vampire spawn. The video game has seen mᴀssive success and there are already talks about Baldur’s Gate 4. A lot of the success comes from the incredible world building and story, but also the voice acting from Newbon and his fellow actors, who creates the cast of characters that fight alongside you. Catherine Tate
Known for Doctor Who, The Office
The most important woman in all of creation joins FAN EXPO Canada. Catherine Tate played Donna Noble in Doctor Who, the companion of the Tenth Doctor, played by David Tennant. Alongside the Doctor, she traveled through time and space, fought daleks, and saved reality. Doctor Who is one of the best science fiction shows of all time and fans are not going to want to miss her tales from the TARDIS panel on Saturday at 4:00 PM in Theater 2.

Mason Thames
Known for How to Train Your Dragon, The Black Phone
Mason Thames is having quite the year. The young actor starred in the record breaking live action adaptation of How to Train Your Dragon – which has already been given a sequel, and is set to lead The Black Phone 2 and the adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s Regretting You, both set to come out later this year. He has two panels at FAN EXPO Canada, both moderated by ScreenRant’s Joe Deckelmier. His first panel is on Saturday at 1:00 PM and the second is on Sunday at 3:00 PM; both panels take place in Theatre 2.

John Boyega
Known for Star Wars, Attack the Block, Pacific Rim 2
Star Wars star John Boyega is never shy about sharing his opinion at cons. At FAN EXPO Boston, he spoke about what he thought Finn’s storyline would be in The Force Awakens. The actor is also working on a sequel to his breakout film, Attack the Block, and while the film has been delayed, Boyega promises it will be worth the wait. Fans can see Boyega’s panel on Sunday at 11:00 AM in Theatre 2.
