One of the Marvel Cinematic Universe actors who plays a huge villain in the franchise addresses rumors about their character being set up for a Spider-Man crossover. Tom Holland’s Peter Parker is getting closer to being back in the MCU timeline as he is currently shooting Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
While the Spider-Man: Brand New Day story is still being kept under wraps, audiences have made it clear which villains they would love to see Holland’s MCU hero finally cross paths with in the franchise. One of them is Wilson Fisk, a.k.a. Kingpin, who has been in the MCU franchise for several years at this point.
Rumors have recently surfaced that Marvel Studios is planning to finally have Holland’s Spider-Man battle Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin, as the Daredevil: Born Again actor was directly asked by an MCU fan on X if he could elaborate. However, D’Onofrio shared the following response:

While keeping it brief, D’Onofrio said, “Honestly, I have no idea.” The MCU will see the return of Kingpin in 2026 when D’Onofrio returns as Mayor Fisk in Daredevil: Born Again season 2, which is set to premiere sometime in March next year.
What Vincent D’Onofrio’s Spider-Man/Kingpin Comments Mean
While it’s unclear if Kingpin would be in Spider-Man: Brand New Day or in a future MCU installment involving the hero, it’s key to remember that there are complex character rights when it comes to D’Onofrio’s character. As of right now, Kingpin is only allowed to appear on MCU TV shows, as D’Onofrio has spoken about this in the past.
The only way Kingpin can appear in an MCU movie is if Marvel Studios and Sony have finally made a new deal that allows D’Onofrio to show up as Fisk in the films. But given that the focus is completely on Spider-Man: Brand New Day right now, plans with Kingpin may be something that happens for Spider-Man 5 or beyond.
Our Take On Vincent D’Onofrio’s Spider-Man/Kingpin Comments
For the time being, based on D’Onofrio’s response, the Spider-Man/Kingpin rumors should be regarded fully as just rumblings. However, it’s becoming clearer every year that MCU fans desperately want to see Spider-Man and Kingpin clash on the big screen, given their comics history.
With Kingpin coming back in 2026 through Daredevil: Born Again season 2, time will tell if he will have a cameo at the very least in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Hopefully, whether it’s in Spider-Man: Brand New Day or a future sequel, fans will ideally get to see D’Onofrio and Holland finally cross paths at some point.
