Jurᴀssic World Rebirth has surged past a major hit at the domestic box office. The new movie is the seventh installment in the Jurᴀssic Park franchise and a standalone sequel to the Jurᴀssic World trilogy. It stars Scarlett Johansson as covert ops specialist Zora Bennett, who is hired to help extract DNA from dangerous mutant dinosaurs on a remote island.
The movie premiered on July 2, taking advantage of the impending Independence Day holiday to debut at No. 1 over the hit F1 The Movie, in addition to breaking the record for the biggest single-day Fourth of July domestic haul in history. The Jurᴀssic World Rebirth VOD release kicked off on August 5, though it is still playing in some theaters.
Per ᴅᴇᴀᴅline, as of Saturday, Jurᴀssic World Rebirth is projected to earn a 3-day domestic total of $2.7 million by the end of its seventh weekend. Although it has fallen to No. 9, this will push it to a cumulative domestic total of $331.9 million, making it only the fourth movie of 2025 to pᴀss the $330 million domestic milestone.
Additionally, it is surging up the all-time domestic box office chart of the highest-grossing Universal releases. By the end of Sunday, it will have surpᴀssed the $330.1 million domestic total of Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, a smash hit biographical drama that grossed $975.8 million worldwide and won seven Oscars, including Best Picture.
In doing so, Jurᴀssic World Rebirth will become Universal’s 14th highest-grossing domestic release of all time.
What This Means For Jurᴀssic World Rebirth
The weekend totals of 2025’s Jurᴀssic World Rebirth are slowing to a crawl this late into its run, but there is still a chance it could climb even higher up the chart. It only needs $4.1 million to surpᴀss 2015’s Minions ($336 million) and become Universal’s 13th highest-grossing domestic movie.
However, its rise will almost certainly stop there. The current No. 12 movie on the chart is the record-breaking hit Furious 7, which had a domestic gross of $353 million that will prove difficult to top, given the current trajectory of Jurᴀssic World Rebirth.
Our Take On The Jurᴀssic World Rebirth Box Office
Although Rebirth has firmed up its position on the chart of Universal’s Top 15 domestic releases of all time, it is still the lowest-grossing of the Jurᴀssic World movies. The previous three installments in the franchise all grossed more than $374 million at the domestic box office by the end of their runs.
In fact, 2015’s Jurᴀssic World is the highest-grossing Universal movie of all time at the domestic box office with a whopping $652.3 million. However, Jurᴀssic World Rebirth is still a marked success, because it has grossed more than $800 million worldwide against a reported budget of roughly $225 million and stands as the fourth highest-grossing movie of 2025.
