R-Rated Netflix Movie With 64% RT Score Instantly Climbs Streaming Charts In Just One Day

Whether it is gritty action, dark comedy, or bold adult animation, Netflix doesn’t shy away from pushing boundaries, which is why it has become a powerhouse streaming platform for hit R-rated movies. From Barbarian to Kandahar, many recent R-rated films have shone on Netflix, and the site has also been great for comedies.

Additionally, despite its 10% Rotten Tomatoes score, John Cena’s action comedy Freelance recently saw streaming success when it was added to the platform. We see again and again that critics’ scores don’t dictate popularity, while Netflix originals like Do Revenge were also trending on the platform upon initial release. As a result, it is proven that R-rated comedies seem to hold up on Netflix.

Fixed Dirtiest Jokes 2

Genny Tartakovsky’s Fixed is currently trending on Netflix, ranking at No. 5 in the Top 10 Movies in the United States today. Released just yesterday, Fixed is an R-rated animated Netflix movie that follows Bull, a dog who learns that he is going to be neutered, which prompts him to have one last adventure with his wild pack of friends.

Adam Devine headlines Fixed‘s cast as Bull, and is joined by stars such as Kathryn Hahn, Idris Elba, Fred Armisen, and Bobby Moynihan. The Netflix movie has earned a somewhat divisive 64% Tomatometer score, but that hasn’t hindered its streaming success with audiences, as the animated film climbs the streaming charts just one day after its release.

Despite Fixed‘s premise, ScreenRant‘s Alex Harrison stated that “there’s a sincere emotional core at the heart of all those vulgar trappings,” adding that it was more fun than you might expect. Fixed‘s release marks the first adult animated film and the first traditionally animated film from Sony Pictures Animation, and comes after Warner Bros. Discovery canceled the project in 2024.

Our Take On Fixed’s Streaming Success

Bull in Netflix's 2025 Fixed movie

Considering that Fixed comes from the creator of things like Samurai Jack and Primal, I expected nothing less than success. Previously, the director has spoken about the animated film’s initial concept, citing movies like Dumb and Dumber, Bridesmaids, and Anchorman as key inspirations, and these influences are all plain to see in the R-rated animated adventure (via Netflix TUDUM).

The modern adult animated movie genre is still fairly sparse, which makes Fixed quite special in its own right. TV is booming with things like Family Guy and South Park, but movies are somewhat neglected aside from rarities like Sausage Party. However, with Fixed rising in the ranks of streaming, hopefully we will see more R-rated animated comedy movies soon.
