Keanu Reeves is one of the biggest movie stars in Hollywood, but his highest-grossing film is a bit of a surprise. Reeves has starred in a number of classic movies over the years, establishing himself as one of the biggest action stars of the 1990s. This reputation led to the hugely successful Matrix movies.
Of course, that wasn’t the only franchise Reeves has been involved in. More recently, he has been reestablished as an icon thanks to the John Wick movies. However, when looking at Reeves’ impressive box office numbers over the years, there is one movie that stands high above the rest, and it isn’t even a live-action role.
Keanu Reeves’ Highest Grossing Movie Is Toy Story 4
Keanu Reeves scored his highest-grossing movie with Pixar’s Toy Story 4, which is also the only film Reeves starred in to cross $1 billion at the box office. Toy Story 4 brought in an impressive $1.07 billion at the worldwide box office (via Box Office Mojo). Aside from being Reeves’ highest-grossing movie, it’s also the highest-grossing Toy Story film.
The fourth Toy Story movie picks up with Woody and the other toys living their new life with Bonnie. However, Woody gets separated from the others and ends up reuniting with his old love interest, Bo Peep. However, it is Reeves who steals the show as Duke Caboom, a stunt racing toy with some confidence issues.

Despite some thinking that Toy Story 3‘s ending wrapped the trilogy up nicely enough that there didn’t need to be a fourth movie, audiences still showed up for Toy Story 4. The movie outgrossed Reeves’ other impressive box office successes, including the first two Matrix installments and the fourth John Wick film.
Keanu Reeves Has An Underrated Voice Acting Career
Toy Story 4 may seem like an outlier in Keanu Reeves’s career to become his highest-grossing movie, but the actor actually has an impressive voice acting career. As exciting as it is to see him in action as Neo and John Wick, Reeves has reached many fans through his animated movies.
Reeves has been able to find some diversity in his voice roles, playing the villainous Shadow in Sonic the Hedgehog 3, as well as joining the ranks of actors to play Batman in DC League of Super-Pets. One of his most overlooked voice performances is in the action-comedy that is appropriately named Keanu.
Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key star as two men who take in an adorable kitten and name it Keanu, only for it to be taken by a dangerous gang. In a dream sequence, Reeves provides the voice of the kitten who bears his name. Reeves has also stepped into the video game world, providing his voice in Cyberpunk 2077.
Keanu Reeves‘ live-action roles have certainly made him iconic, but more and more recently, he has found ways to stand out in these voice acting roles. It is another layer to the star’s impressive legacy.
