Avengers: Doomsday Set PH๏τos Reveal Major Upgrade For Returning X-Men Star

Avengers: Doomsday should follow one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s biggest Multiverse Saga movies and give a major X-Men character his comics-accurate suit, as one set pH๏τo teases the film doing just that. ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine was Marvel’s most important project to date when it comes to the X-Men. It broke box office records, becoming one of the MCU’s best movies.

Hugh Jackman debuted as Wolverine in 2000’s X-Men. Despite the fact that he would go on to star in a Wolverine trilogy and multiple X-Men movies, Fox never once had him wear Wolverine’s yellow and blue costume from the comics. It only took Jackman one film in the MCU to have that corrected, and the other X-Men should face the same.

On Instagram, Alan Cumming seemingly revealed that Nightcrawler will don a comics-accurate suit in Avengers: Doomsday.

As part of a recent pH๏τo dump, the X-Men actor shared a few pH๏τos and videos that seem to come from the MCU movie’s set. One of them is the most interesting for Marvel fans, as Cumming shared a box showcasing an image of him as Nightcrawler donning the character’s red X-Men suit from Marvel Comics, presumably for the upcoming MCU movie.

What Alan Cumming’s Avengers: Doomsday Nightcrawler Set PH๏τos Mean

The red and black costume is easily Nightcrawler’s most iconic suit in Marvel Comics. Cumming never got to don it in live-action, so Avengers: Doomsday could finally allow fans to see what his Nightcrawler could look like with it. It would make sense for Marvel to use the suit for a couple of reasons.

First, there is the fact that the MCU recently gave Jackman’s Wolverine his iconic yellow and blue X-Men suit, while also having the actor suit up with other classic Wolverine costumes for a multiverse sequence. Channing Tatum’s Gambit was another X-Men member who got to debut a comics-accurate suit in live-action in the MCU. As such, Nightcrawler would fit that pattern.

The other reason why Marvel having Alan Cumming’s Nightcrawler wear the character’s most iconic suit in Avengers: Doomsday makes sense is due to the latest X-Men project. Disney+’s X-Men ’97 showed how Kevin Feige and Marvel understand the X-Men, and the animated series had Nightcrawler wear his comics-accurate suit. As such, Cumming’s Avengers: Doomsday set pH๏τo seems to be a big reveal.

The fact that Alan Cumming’s Nightcrawler will likely don his X-Men costume from the comics in Avengers: Doomsday is exciting for a few reasons. Nightcrawler deserved a bigger role in Fox’s original X-Men franchise, so bringing the character back and making him even more accurate to the comics is a good way to go about it.

Additionally, Avengers: Doomsday now seems even more likely to feature all the returning X-Men cast in their comics-accurate suits. Given that the team is known for wearing black leather in the original X-Men trilogy, it would be a treat to see the X-Men in their bright-colored suits. Avengers: Doomsday can now feature the most comics-accurate X-Men in live-action yet.
