A big Marvel character has been teased for Avengers: Doomsday, and it’s exactly what the movie needs. The story of Avengers: Doomsday is mostly unknown at this point, aside from the involvement of Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, the film’s main villain. The remainder of Avengers: Doomsday‘s cast list has also been confirmed, though more announcements are expected.

One such announcement has been teased recently, setting up a major return for the upcoming Marvel movie. This comes at the same time as several rumors that claim more casting decisions will be unveiled for Avengers: Doomsday in August. Until then, though, a big Marvel hero has been outwardly teased for the film, and it could prove to be exactly what Avengers: Doomsday needs.

The character in question is ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool. Ryan Reynolds himself has teased ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool’s inclusion in Avengers: Doomsday, thanks to a post on his Instagram account. Reynolds posted an image of the Avengers logo, only with a more anarchic “A” painted over the top of it. This “A” symbol was painted in bright red, indicating ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool’s involvement.

What exactly this means is unknown at this point, but, naturally, it has raised excitement over ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool being a part of one or both of the upcoming Avengers movies. Avengers: Doomsday is currently filming, so it would make sense for Reynolds to be teasing his involvement in that project. Either way, ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool’s MCU return could come sooner rather than later.

ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool Is Perfect For Avengers: Doomsday

If, indeed, this is a tease that ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool will be in Avengers: Doomsday, it could prove exactly what the film needs. The Russo Brothers’ Avengers movies have often had specific characters for comedic relief, be they the Guardians in Avengers: Infinity War or Thor in Avengers: Endgame. ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool could be perfectly utilized as such a character.

Moreover, from a story perspective, ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine teased the character’s future in the MCU. At the end of the 2024 movie, Hunter B-15 states that their work is only just getting started. With Loki confirmed as a character in Avengers: Doomsday, the TVA will be involved too, offering the perfect link to ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool.

For this reason, ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool’s inclusion in the movie makes perfect sense. After all, Doctor Doom’s plan could threaten ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool’s universe, which was his driving motivation in ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine. This, combined with the above reasons, proves how perfect the character is for Avengers: Doomsday. Therefore, we can only hope Reynolds’ tease has a straightforward answer.
