Pedro Pascal In Talks To Star In New Movie From Andor Creator

MCU and Star Wars actor Pedro Pascal may have found his next project. The celebrated writer-director Tony Gilroy is still remembered for his legal thriller Michael Clayton, but found additional fame in the last decade for leading rewrites of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and creating the Star Wars franchise’s highly acclaimed TV show Andor.

For season 2, Andor garnered 14 Emmy Awards nominations, including for Outstanding Drama Series. Meanwhile, Pascal’s series The Mandalorian (a disparate branch of the Star Wars franchise from Gilroy’s work) launched the Disney+ era of Star Wars and was generally praised by audiences and critics, at least for the first two seasons.

According to ᴅᴇᴀᴅline, Pedro Pascal is now in talks to star in Tony Gilroy’s next project following Andor. Gilroy is set to write and direct Searchlight’s movie Behemoth!, with the only confirmed plot details at this time being that the story follows a cellist. Per ᴅᴇᴀᴅline, “While the deal is not closed, sources say Pascal wants to do it and things are headed in the right direction.

What Starring In Behemoth! Would Mean For Pedro Pascal

Pedro Pascal’s career has absolutely exploded in recent years, this summer especially proving how he is one of the most sought-after actors in Hollywood with the consecutive releases of Materialists, Eddington, and Fantastic Four: First Steps (movies of three very different genres). The second season of Pascal’s hit HBO series The Last of Us also arrived earlier this year.

The actor is also confirmed to be in two upcoming Avengers movies and Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu. Needless to say, Pascal is very busy, but is still reportedly considering adding Gilroy’s project to the mix. Given Gilroy’s caliber as a writer, this could be yet another successful picture that contributes to the continuous upward trajectory of Pascal’s career.

Our Take On Pedro Pascal Starring In Tony Gilroy’s New Movie

Both Pascal and Gilroy are proven talents who may be testing out a slightly different genre with Behemoth!, but I still expect it to be an intense and compelling story with some markers of a thriller. As such, Pedro Pascal taking on a thrilling movie penned by Tony Gilroy would likely be a collaboration that would take Hollywood by storm.
