The Black Panther movies and their various MCU spin-offs have included several pieces of Wakandan tech over centuries of stories in-universe. As the wait for Black Panther 3‘s story goes on, Marvel Studios is still utilizing the world of Wakanda. The studio’s most recent TV show, the highly ranked Eyes of Wakanda, proves as much.

The series focuses on several Wakandan war dogs from across history, placing them in different eras as they try to stop Wakandan tech from falling into the hands of outsiders. Upcoming Marvel movies may not tie directly into Eyes of Wakanda, but the return to that sect of the MCU was certainly refreshing, especially amid historical moments like the Trojan War.

By the time of Eyes of Wakanda‘s ending, several new pieces of Wakandan technology are introduced to the MCU. This comes after the two Black Panther movies, which established exactly how technologically advanced the African nation truly is in the modern-day MCU. After Eyes of Wakanda, though, the timeline for Wakanda’s tech has only expanded.

Wakanda Had Very Advanced Tech & Tools As Far Back As 1260BC

The first episode of Eyes of Wakanda takes place around the Greek island of Crete in 1260BC. This episode sees a Wakandan agent named Noni infiltrating a cult named the Pride of the Lion to take back the Wakandan weaponry that its leader stole from his home country. Throughout this episode, several pieces of Wakandan technology and tools are introduced.

The first includes a holographic projection of sorts, only through the use of sand. This emulates the opening sequence of Black Panther, in which N’Jadaka is heard explaining the history of the тιтular hero to his son. This opening is accompanied by sand-like animations of Wakanda’s history. The leader of the war dogs, Akeya, uses a similar-looking technology to outline Noni’s target.

Later in the episode, once Noni finds the Lion, he has a gauntlet and spear made from Wakandan technology. The gauntlet allows for extra strength, while the spear is imbued with enough vibranium to become volatile and cause mᴀssive explosions. Beyond that, the Lion has a Wakandan explosive device that destroys his fleet in the final moments of episode 1.

Wakanda’s Agents Had Communication Devices During The Trojan War

Eyes of Wakanda episode 2 takes the MCU to the days of the Trojan War. Following Achilles and his Myrmidons, the episode tells the story of Memnon, B’Kai in Wakandan, who is part of the elite group of fighters looking to invade the impregnable city of Troy. B’Kai’s motivation is different from Achilles’, though, as he searches for a Wakandan artifact.

This artifact is a vibranium necklace, proving how Wakandan technology is still out in the world even after Noni’s adventures. In this episode, B’Kai showcases several other pieces of Wakandan tech. One includes the armor on his arm, which grants him boosted strength in the final battle against Achilles.

Another is more subtle and is shown earlier in the episode: a communication device. The device looks somewhat like a compᴀss, with B’Kai clicking the dials to communicate with his superiors back in Wakanda. Long-range communication devices were not invented until the 1800s in our world, meaning Wakandan tech allowed this to be a reality almost 3000 years before that.

Wakanda Had Planes, Vehicles, & Touch-Screen Tablets By 1400AD

In Eyes of Wakanda episode 3, an agent named Basha takes a vibranium-infused statue from China back to Wakanda. In the opening sequence, the advanced technology of the country in the 1400s is shown when Basha enters a flying ship. In the real world, flying aircraft were not invented until the 1900s, proving just how advanced Wakanda is in the MCU.

The episode also features several other technological advancements that are well ahead of their time. The fight sequence in the antiques room in the climax of episode 3 includes several Eyes of Wakanda Easter eggs, including the necklace that B’Kai was tasked with retrieving in episode 2.

This room also includes several advanced weapons, from a ranged weapon that shoots sticky projectiles to subdue targets to a vibranium fan that uses light to blind opponents. Beyond this, a touch-screen tablet is shown at one point, as are the fast-paced vibranium monorails found in Black Panther and cars using vibranium balls as wheels.

Present-Day MCU Wakanda Has A Wide Range Of Technologically Advanced Tools

Moving away from Eyes of Wakanda briefly, the Black Panther movies showcase a wide array of technologically advanced elements from Wakanda in the modern-day MCU timeline. Wakanda is known for its medical advancements, for example, evidenced by how the nation helped Bucky overcome his Winter Soldier programming and saved Everett Ross from a gunsH๏τ wound that should have paralyzed him.

This is without mentioning the various ships, weapons, shields, and suits of armor shown throughout Black Panther and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever that vastly outweigh those of other countries in the MCU in terms of technology. Moreover, without the inventions of Shuri, heroes like Iron Man and Spider-Man would not have possessed nanotech suits of armor.

Admittedly, there are simply too many instances that showcase advanced Wakanda technology for me to name them all here. The point is, though, that Wakanda’s technology continues to be advanced in the modern-day of the MCU, despite already being so in 1200BC, 1100BC, and the 1400s AD.

The first Black Panther incorporated this into its story. The wide range of technologically advanced aspects of Wakanda was opened up for the world to experience after T’Challa’s fight with Killmonger. This allowed the world to improve, too, though Wakanda remained in control of its superior technology.

The MCU’s Tease Of The Future Suggests Wakanda Gains Even More Futuristic Tech

Finally, the last big reveal of Wakandan technology in Eyes of Wakanda actually comes from the future. The finale of Eyes of Wakanda includes a much more ambitious, complex story than its three predecessors. This time, the story centers on the last Black Panther from the future, who faces off against an alien race known as the Horde.

Wakanda, being closed off to the rest of the world due to a change in the timeline, is unable to defeat the Horde. This forces the last Black Panther to go back in time and change this event, so that T’Challa will eventually open Wakanda’s borders to the rest of the world and enable the future, united planet to face the Horde.

The time-travel technology shown in Eyes of Wakanda episode 4 alone is enough to prove how advanced the country becomes in the MCU’s future. This is a version of Wakanda without connections to the outside world, too, meaning they likely did not know about the Avengers’ form of time travel via the Quantum Realm.

This all indicates that it was Wakandan tech and scientists alone that allowed for the time-traveling method to be founded.

Evidently, Wakandan technology has a timeline unlike any other in the MCU, stretching as far back as Ancient Greece and going well into the future. Whether more seasons of Eyes of Wakanda or future Black Panther movies continue exploring this remains to be seen, but it is clear just how advanced Wakanda is from what has been presented across the MCU’s vast timeline thus far.
