A Quiet Place Part III is on the way. The movie will be the fourth installment in the post-apocalyptic horror franchise, which takes place in a world where alien monsters who hunt by sound have hugely reduced Earth’s population.
The first two movies were directed by, written (or co-written) by, and starred John Krasinski, who is likely best known as an actor for his small-screen roles in The Office and Jack Ryan. The most recent installment was 2024’s A Quiet Place: Day One, a prequel that was directed by Michael Sarnoski and starred Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn.
On his official Instagram account, John Krasinski confirmed that A Quiet Place Part III is set to debut on July 9, 2027. Additionally, ᴅᴇᴀᴅline confirms that Krasinski will be directing, writing, and producing the upcoming installment.
Platinum Dunes and Sunday Night Productions (which John Krasinski co-founded with Allyson Seeger in 2013) are behind the sequel. Further details about A Quiet Place Part III are unknown at the time of writing. See Krasinski’s original post below:

What This Means For A Quiet Place
The Franchise Is Coming Roaring Back
This announcement reaffirms that the plans for the franchise to continue are moving forward after the upcoming A Quiet Place Part III was originally announced in February 2022 and given a 2025 release date before being pulled from the schedule in 2024.
In early 2025, A Quiet Place producer Brad Fuller told The Direct that one reason for Part III‘s delay is that Krasinski is “so in demand, and it’s hard to get him.”
The fact that Krasinski has been confirmed to return could mean that the original plans for the movie are still in place. This includes the previous announcement that the movie was meant to be a conclusion to the ongoing story of the Quiet Place trilogy.
While no casting decisions have been announced yet, the return of Krasinski could encourage the return of his co-stars from the previous Quiet Place movies, including Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe, who played his character Lee’s wife, daughter, and son.
Cillian Murphy could also potentially return as Emmett, a survivalist and former friend of Lee. While Lee died during the events of 2018’s A Quiet Place, he returned for the prologue of 2021’s A Quiet Place Part II and could potentially return in flashbacks in Part III as well.
Our Take On The Quiet Place Part III Announcement
It Doesn’t Have To End The Franchise
Although A Quiet Place Part III could very well be the conclusion of the overarching story, ending the trilogy doesn’t mean that the franchise will stop. Day One was a success, earning a Certified Fresh 87% Rotten Tomatoes score and grossing $261.8 million against a reported $67 million budget, proving that the franchise can carry on without Lee and his family.
