August 1 will be a bad day for the highest-rated movie directed by Quentin Tarantino. Tarantino is a well-known director, writer, and actor who got his start in the late 1980s. While he has both written and performed in movies that he did not direct, including Robert Rodriguez’s From Dusk Till Dawn, Tarantino is best known for his directorial efforts.
Quentin Tarantino’s first movie as a director was 1992’s Reservoir Dogs, a cult classic that kickstarted a career that includes major тιтles such as the Kill Bill movies, Django Unchained, Inglourious Basterds, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Altogether, Tarantino’s directorial efforts, none of which have splats on Rotten Tomatoes, have earned him eight Oscar nominations and two wins.
Pulp Fiction Is Leaving A Major Streamer

Pulp Fiction is about to depart from one of its most important streaming homes. Tarantino’s mᴀssively influential crime movie, which stars Bruce Willis, Samuel L. Jackson, and John Travolta, spawned a legion of imitators in the mid-1990s. The star-studded Pulp Fiction cast also includes Uma Thurman, Harvey Keitel, Tim Roth, Ving Rhames, and Christopher Walken.
In addition to being a critical darling, earning Tarantino his first two Oscar nominations (for Best Screenplay and Best Director), 1994’s Pulp Fiction was Tarantino’s first major commercial hit. While Reservoir Dogs only made $2.9 million against its reported budget of roughly $3 million, Pulp Fiction grossed a whopping $213.9 million against a reported budget of roughly $8.5 million.
Quentin Tarantino’s first Oscar win was the Best Screenplay award for Pulp Fiction, which he shared with Roger Avary.
Pulp Fiction also holds Quentin Tarantino’s best score on the review aggregator platform Rotten Tomatoes, on which it is Certified Fresh with 92%, just beating out Reservoir Dogs‘ 90%.
Per Tubi, Pulp Fiction will be leaving the free streaming platform on July 31, alongside a host of other licensed тιтles, including The Benchwarmers, Nightcrawler, The Da Vinci Code, RoboCop, and Jumanji. It will be exiting the platform just a few weeks after it topped Tubi’s chart of their most-streamed movies.
What This Means For Pulp Fiction
It Will Still Be Available Elsewhere
While Pulp Fiction‘s departure from Tubi strikes a major blow to its free streaming availability, Pulp Fiction will still be viewable on the subscription streaming platform Paramount+ in addition to being available for rental and purchase on a variety of platforms, including Prime Video and Fandango at Home.
The iconic Quentin Tarantino movie will also continue to be available on the free streaming services Kanopy and Hoopla. While the platforms have slightly more limited reach than Tubi, they are available to card-holding members at many local libraries.
