David Fincher’s Cliff Booth Movie Starts Filming, Brad Pitt Reprises Oscar-Winning Role In First Set PH๏τos

David Fincher’s Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood spinoff has begun filming as Brad Pitt returns on set as Cliff Booth. With a script penned by Quentin Tarantino, the upcoming feature centers around Rick Dalton’s (Leonardo DiCaprio) laid-back stuntman (Pitt) and is rumored to be called The Continuing Adventures of Cliff Booth.

In addition to the Bullet Train actor, the announced cast includes Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, and JB Tadena. While it’s unclear whether DiCaprio will return for the spinoff, the movie was scheduled to start filming in the summer in California.

Now, in an Instagram post shared by Just Jared, Pitt can be seen on set in Los Angeles. In the carousel, Pitt wears a patterned bright yellow shirt similar to the one he wore in the 2019 original while holding a lollipop in his mouth. His character also seems to have a mustache and longer hair in the new movie.

What This Means For The Cliff Booth Spinoff

Cliff Booth Is Back, But Not Without New Details

The first behind-the-scenes pH๏τos give a sneak peek at the new look for Cliff Booth, teasing the movie’s laid-back tone. Except for a slight change in his hair, visually, not much has changed for Cliff, especially his taste in clothes. Despite featuring a different pattern from the one Pitt wore in the original movie’s poster, Cliff’s new yellow shirt looks almost identical, which indicates the comeback of his iconic laid-back style.

At the same time, the lollipop, which can be seen in all three pH๏τos, seems to suggest a new detail about the character. Set roughly eight years after the events in Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, the upcoming Cliff Booth spinoff follows him as a Hollywood fixer who handles messy situations that sometimes arise in the industry.

While the original movie primarily revolves around Rick Dalton’s struggle as a fading star and the declining demand for Cliff as a stuntman in Hollywood in the ’60s, the David Fincher movie aims to offer a darker and more ambiguous look at the industry during the ’70s.

Our Take On Brad Pitt’s New Look In The Cliff Booth Spinoff

Cliff Booth Looks More Rigid In The New Spinoff

Pitt’s new look as Cliff is at the intersection of strangeness and familiarity. The shirt functions like a time capsule that immediately puts Pitt in Cliff’s role, but it seems that so much has changed for the character during the eight years after Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood‘s ending.

While most of the details from the movie remain under wraps, the new images see Cliff out walking down the streets of LA instead of driving a car, which is already something different. The lollipop adds a nice little twist to Cliff’s character. It does seem that old Cliff looked much more polished while working for Rick Dalton. Now, as a fixer, new Cliff has a different vibe.

It’s amazing how the character designs managed to convey so much through a simple change of shirt and hairstyle, but overall, I can’t wait for the new Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood spinoff to arrive.
